Si amas algo, déjalo libre. Si vuelve, es tuyo sino nunca lo fue !

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aimer est plus fort que d'être aimé - Daniel Balavoine

Toi qui sais ce qu'est un rempart You who know what a wall is
Tu avances sous les regards You keep going under
    Courroucés angry eyes
Tu écris mais sur le buvard You're writing but on the blotting paper
Tous les mots se sont inversés All the words got reversed

Si tu parles il te faut savoir If you talk, you will have to know
Que ceux qui lancent des regards That all those who look at you
    Courroucés A bad way
Ne voudront voir dans leur miroir Will only want to see in their mirrors
Que ce qui peut les arranger What may humour them

Toi qui as brisé la glace You who have broken the ice
Sais que rien ne remplace You know that nothing replaces
    La vérité The truth
Et qu'il n'y a que deux races And that there are two races only
Ou les faux ou les vrais The true and the false ones

    [Refrain] :
    L'amour Love
Te porte dans tes efforts Carries you in your efforts
    L'amour Love
De tout délie les secrets Of everything, unties the secrets
Oh -et face à tous ceux qui te dévorent Oh, and in front of all those who devour you*
Aimer est plus fort que d'être aimé To love is stronger than to be loved

Toi qui sais ce qu'est le blasphème You who know what a blasphemy is
On ne récolte pas toujours We don't always reap
Ce qu'on sème What we sow
Tu connais l'ambition suprème You know the ultimate ambition
De ceux qui te vouent de la haine Of those who hate you

Ils voudraient sous la menace They would like, under threat
Te fondre dans la masse Blend you in with the crowd
Pour t'étouffer In order to smother you
Mais pour couler le brise-glace But, to sink the icebreaker
Il faudrait un rocher They'd need a rock

    [Refrain]

    Ohhh.. l'amour...

    * Can also be understood as : et face à tout ce qui te dévore and in front of everything that devours you

Savatage: The most under appreciated, under rated, metal bands in the music business. All of their albums are theme oriented. All the songs tell a part of the story. This song was written about the mindlessness of the Bosnian war. One of many mindless wars of mankind.

In the town of Sarajevo there is an ancient church which has a stone gargoyle sitting on top, overlooking the town square. In the midst of mindless warfare are four characters: an impressionable Serbian soldier, a young Bosnian Muslim girl and an old man who takes out his cello every night “to play Mozart as the shells explode around him.â€￾ And watching over them, a silent stone gargoyle atop an old medieval church who has, for a thousand years, observed in bewilderment the human condition.

“Not What You Seeâ€￾ from the album, Dead Winter Dead - 1994

No life's so short it can't turn around
You can't spend your life living underground
For from above you don't hear a sound
    And I'm out here, waiting
I don't understand what you want me to be
It's the dark you're hating, it's not who I am
But I know that it's all that you see

No life's so short that it never learns
No flame so small that it never burns
No page so sure that it never turns
    And I'm out here, waiting
I don't understand what you want me to be
It's the dark you're hating, it's not who I am
But I know that it's all that you see

Can you live your life in a day, putting every moment in play?
Never hear a word that they say as the wheels go around

Tell me if you win would it show - in a thousand years, who would know?
As a million lives come and go on this same piece of ground

Can you live your life in a day (I've been waiting)
    Putting every moment in play?
Never hear a word that they say (I don't understand what you want me to be)
    As the wheels go around
Tell me if you win would it show (It's the dark you're hating)
In a thousand years, who would know?
As a million lives come and go (It's not who I am, but it is what you see)
On this same piece of ground

    I've been waiting
I don't understand what you want me to be
    It's the dark you're hating
It's not who I am, but it is what you see

Can you live your life in a day
    Putting every moment in play?
Never hear a word that they say
    As the wheels go around
Tell me if you win would it show
In a thousand years, who would know?
As a million lives come and go
On this same piece of ground

Tell me would you really want to
See me leave this night without you
Would you ever look about you
    Wondering where we might be
New York is so far away now
    Tokyo, Berlin and Moscow
Only dreams from here but somehow
One day that world we will see

    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand
    I don't understand...

I swear on tomorrow, if you take this chance
Our lives are this moment, the music - the dance
And here in this labyrinth of lost mysteries
I close my eyes on this night and you're all that I see

    You're all that I see

Don't know what's wrong with this but it will not allow (permission) to upload a jpg file. So, you don't get to see my cowboy pic from back in my cowboy days.

    Hi Poetry of Providence,
My favorites also. No, I can't use the regular uploader because it won't let me choose a file. The "basic" uploader lets me choose the file but won't let me upload. It tells me I don't have permissions, and to refresh the page and try again. Doesn't work! I also have this "Jesus says, The first will be last and the last shall be first." Once I sign in, the last message shows up first and the first message is last. I have to pay close attention to the message #.

Hey Utuna, can you help me out here?

    Hi T,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

I wrote an answer to Singlecell last May because he had the same problem as you. You might have missed it.

    ---------------------------------

One of the reasons why our forum server had huge problems a few months ago and why Timothy had to spend hours making corrections on the File Allocation Table (or anything newer akin to it) is because of huge jpeg files used as attachments (the pictures in question were erased as a result or the attachments disabled). Not knowing where those problems were or whence they were coming, we decided to turn off this feature until further notice. This feature isn't disabled everywhere though, unless I'm mistaken.

For better and more reliable results, please use pics banks like photobucket or else. Or you may ask me to use my photobucket account to that end. I don't mind at all. I'm at your service in countless ways ! ;)

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    ----------------------------------

I've noticed that Singlecell uses Photobucket now (or another image hosting website, I haven't checked).

Well, I don't see how having the last message that shows up first and the first message that shows up last should be a problem for a thread entitled as such... lol

Jokes aside, have you had a look at the option that enables you to have the posts listed chronologically or not ? latest first or latest last ? From what I read in your explanations of the problem, that which I don't understand is why this problem is happening in one thread only as this option is supposed to change the way all the posts of the forum are displayed on your screen, and not just the posts in one thread only.

Here is a song written by award winning Mentor Williams. This song was recorded by many different artists; even the Rolling Stones. This was originally written for and performed by Dobie Gray in 1973. It reached number 17 of the top 100 Billboard Chart of 1973.
You will not find this on any Doobie Brothers' album. It is not titled Give me the beat boys, it is:

    Drift Away - Doobie Brothers

unfortunately my old work habits apply to my
email habits , since email was part and parcel
of our business requests , we were required to
have them answered within a couple of hours.
I don't require that immediate of myself these
days , but then I don't have the volume of
    emails any longer ...

    Hi Utuna,
It doesn't happen in one thread, it's only when I log in. It seems to be my connection. I've tried all your suggestions and none of it works, no matter what display method I choose. I'll just have to live with it.
"You do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again." As far as the photos go, I don't like to give my photos to other corporations that will use them as they wish. Too many crooks out there. So.... No old cowboy photos. Most people never read the license agreements of software/websites for privacy, or use of information. Many are surprised that their personal information is "owned" by the company, once it is on "their" system. It's usually hidden deep within the license agreement gooble de gook.

    Who can say for certain
    Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
    Your memory's so clear

    Deep in the stillness
    I can hear you speak
    You're still an inspiration
    Can it be
    That you are mine
    Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
    Beyond the distant star
    I wish upon tonight
    To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
    A breath away's not far
    To where you are

    Are you gently sleeping
    Here inside my dream
    And isn't faith believing
    All power can't be seen

    As my heart holds you
    Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
    'Cause you are my
    Forever love
    Watching me from up above

    And I believe
    That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

    Fly me up
    To where you are
    Beyond the distant star
    I wish upon tonight
    To see you smile
    If only for awhile
    To know you're there
    A breath away's not far
    To where you are

    I know you're there
    A breath away's not far
    To where you are

always enjoyed that one "insert real name here" Utoo
it is so Song of Songs . I think one can really feel the
expressions of the heart when they are written truly
from that perspective of deep affection.

Have you ever read Cyrano de Bergerac, one of the best and most meaningful poetry I ever read (the Bible excepted :p) ?

Nous avons toujours, nous, dans nos poches, We always have, we, in our pockets
Des épîtres à des Chloris. . . de nos caboches, Some epistles to some Chloris... out of our noggins
Car nous sommes ceux-là qui pour amante n'ont For we are of those who as lovers have
Que du rêve soufflé dans la bulle d'un nom!. . . Only dream blown into the bubble of a name !

Official translation here ? ;) Mine is more literal, the book maybe more English (the translation isn't accurate though, in my opinion).
