    Hi Everyone :D

I and my wife celebrated 20 years of marriage last week! We had a delicious five course lunch on a 5-hour Murder Mystery journey to the coast and back to London (we and other travellers guessed correctly the culprit!)

The train was the 1930s style Belmond British Pullman, part of the Orient Express (Venice-Simplon Orient Express - VSOE).

In the evening, we had a delicious four course dinner with live music and entertainment at the The Ritz Hotel, a place of true opulence. The people and staff were friendly and down to earth, and guests noticed us and made a fuss. The whole day was a dream-like, honeymoon-like experience. My wife even managed to get me to the dance floor for one romantic dance together.

    Praise Jehovah!

Congratulations, Londoner!! Hopefully there will be many more years ahead for both of you. Never let your love fade.
Here's a song for you and the wife.

    Thanks very much, Tsaphah :)

Lovely song. Never heard of this group. I like the lyric that said you make things new after all the fires we've been through. Yep, we've been through quite a few of those, especially in the last couple of years. ;)

    Hi Tsaphah :)

My wife listened to the song and was moved by the words. She called it a "proper song", and wanted me to pass on her comments.

    Many thanks

    Hi Londoner,
Yes, it is a "proper" song. I have another but, I'll post it in the music forum. I don't want to take away from the subject of your anniversary.
Although, it is another "proper" song along the same line of being loving and faithful. By Journey.

Huge congratulations Londoner!!! [I love those murder mystery dinners too]

My wife and I (10 yrs) call marriage the "pressure cooker" relationship.

In my estimation no relationship experience will instruct you more, OTHER THAN, true and pure marriage to the Christ Jesus.

Perhaps marriage is a chance for us to put into practice the "deep things" of the spirit?

    Hey Londoner and SingleCell,
Yes, it can be a pressure cooker at times. But, “All These Years” helps to teach us how to control the pressure. It runs both ways and it takes two to make sure it doesn’t over heat and explode. My wife and I have a blessing and a curse that we deal with. One of our grandchildren lives across the street with three of our great grand children. It’s a blessing because they live across the street.:) It’s also a curse, because they live across the street!

Tomorrow, December 7th, is our 57th anniversary. My, how time flies. What I’ve learned, in “All These Years”, is that two positives don’t attract, the same holds true with two negatives. It becomes necessary to learn which one to be, and when, in a marriage. That’s the only way to stay attracted to each other. “A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.” - Dave Meurer ( Pr 31:10-31 )

Congratulations dear brother to you and your wife with all love...

That is truly amazing that you and your wife have the opportunity to share time with your great grand children, and that brings out a couple of thoughts within me.

First, I realize how lucky we are to have your experience here. At 42 I believe I am just starting to mature in the direction I should, as the old saying goes: In our teens we we know everything already. In our 20's we think we know everything, and in our thirties we start realize we don't know everything. While in our forties we start to learn.

I believe in the years past, even going back to Robert's forum, I did not not take advantage of your wisdom as much as I do now, and I do quite often think about going back through even the years on this forum to read more of the posts from you that I may not have thoroughly meditated on at that time. I regret many things in life, perhaps none the more so then my immaturity keeping me from truly learning much earlier...

I value your association here in our Kingdom Hall brother, and I have for many years looked forward standing shoulder to shoulder with you in the time of the end. I have come to rely on your wisdom Tsaphah.

With all Christian love dear brother...

That's hilarious regarding the grandchildren. :D We don't have grandchildren as yet....

Congratulations!!! 57 years today - Is incredible!

I read your quote above from David Meurer, to my wife today, and she agrees. We've learnt the truth of those words over the years.
