    Hi JIG

    My laptop has been out of action so I was catching up on some reading today. Thank you for the time and effort that you put into this thread. Congratulations on your daughter getting married - that's wonderful news for the family.

    Ok now I have a question in the time of King David Jehovah said do I live in houses made by man but he permitted King David to go ahead and begin the project so that his son Solomon could put it into motion but now we read that Jehovah was not pleased because the temple was run down and people devoted too much time to themselves so what's the deal here why did you have Jehovah care when he didn't want a house to start with tmp-cam-234111940.jpg

    Haggai chapter 2
    1In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the Lordcame by Haggai the prophet, saying: 2“Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying: 3Ezra 3:12, 13‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, Zech. 4:10isthis not in your eyes as nothing? 4Yet now Deut. 31:23; 1 Chr. 22:13; 28:20; Zech. 8:9; Eph. 6:10be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says the Lord; ‘and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,’ says the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ says the Lord of hosts. 5Ex. 29:45, 46‘Accordingto the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so (Neh. 9:20); Is. 63:11, 14My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’
    6“For thus says the Lord of hosts: Heb. 12:26‘Once more (it is a little while) (Joel 3:16)I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; 7and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to Gen. 49:10; Mal. 3:1the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with 1 Kin. 8:11; Is. 60:7; Zech. 2:5glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. 8‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. 9(John 1:14)‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give Ps. 85:8, 9; Luke 2:14; (Eph. 2:14)peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
    The People Are Defiled
    10On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 11“Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Now, Lev. 10:10, 11; Deut. 33:10; Mal. 2:7ask the priests concerningthe law, saying, 12“If one carries holy meat in the fold of his garment, and with the edge he touches bread or stew, wine or oil, or any food, will it become holy?” ’ ”
    Then the priests answered and said, “No.”
    13And Haggai said, “If onewhoisLev. 22:4–6; Num. 19:11, 22unclean because of a dead body touches any of these, will it be unclean?”
    So the priests answered and said, “It shall be unclean.”
    14Then Haggai answered and said, (Titus 1:15)“ ‘So is this people, and so is this nation before Me,’ says the Lord, ‘and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.
    Promised Blessing
    15‘And now, carefully Hag. 1:5, 7; 2:18consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord— 16since those days,Hag. 1:6, 9; Zech. 8:10when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when onecame to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were buttwenty. 17Deut. 28:22; 1 Kin. 8:37; Amos 4:9I struck you with blight and mildew and hail Hag. 1:11in all the labors of your hands; Jer. 5:3; Amos 4:6–11yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord. 18‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from Ezra 5:1, 2, 16; Zech. 8:9the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it: 19Zech. 8:12Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will Ps. 128:1–6; Jer. 31:12, 14; (Mal. 3:10)bless you.’ ”
    Zerubbabel Chosen as a Signet
    20And again the word of the Lordcame to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21“Speak to Zerubbabel, Ezra 5:2; Hag. 1:1, 14; Zech. 4:6–10governor of Judah, saying:
    Hag. 2:6, 7; (Heb. 12:26, 27)‘I will shake heaven and earth.
    22(Dan. 2:44; Rev. 19:11–21)I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms;
    I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms.
    Ps. 46:9; Ezek. 39:20; Mic. 5:10; Zech. 9:10I will overthrow the chariots
    And those who ride in them;
    The horses and their riders shall come down,
    Every one by the sword of his brother.
    23‘In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, Song 8:6; Jer. 22:24‘and will make you like a signet ring; for Is. 42:1; 43:10I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

    Zechariah Chapter 1
    1In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lordcame to the prophet Zechariah son of Berekiah, the son of Iddo:
    2“The Lordwas very angry with your ancestors. 3Therefore tell the people: This is what the LordAlmighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LordAlmighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LordAlmighty. 4Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LordAlmighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. 5Where are your

    Zechariah Chapter 2
    I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

    2Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

    3And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

    4And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:

    5For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

    6Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD

    Zechariah Chapter 3
    1Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan3:1 Hebrew satan means adversary. standing at his right side to accuse him. 2The Lordsaid to Satan, “The Lordrebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
    3Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”
    Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”
    5Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lordstood by.
    6The angel of the Lordgave this charge to Joshua: 7“This is what the LordAlmighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
    8“ ‘Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. 9See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes3:9 Or facets on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the LordAlmighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.
    10“ ‘In that day each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your vine and fig tree,’ declares the LordAlmighty.”

    Zechariah Chapter 4
    1Then the angel who talked with me returned and woke me up, like someone awakened from sleep. 2He asked me, “What do you see?”
    I answered, “I see a solid gold lampstand with a bowl at the top and seven lamps on it, with seven channels to the lamps. 3Also there are two olive trees by it, one on the right of the bowl and the other on its left.”
    4I asked the angel who talked with me, “What are these, my lord?”

    Again we see a prophecy which appears in Revelation but in Revelation and appears to John tmp-cam--1839588277.jpg Zechariah-4.jpg

    Zechariah Chapter 5
    Then I turned and raised my eyes, and saw there a flying scroll.

    2 And he said to me, “What do you see?”

    So I answered, “I see a flying scroll. Its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.”

    3 Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole earth: ‘Every thief shall be expelled,’ according tothis side of the scroll; and, ‘Every perjurer shall be expelled,’ according to that side of it.”

    4 “I will send out the curse,” says theLord of hosts;
    “It shall enter the house of the thief
    And the house of the one who swears falsely by My name.
    It shall remain in the midst of his house
    And consume it, with its timber and stones.”
