I'm fairly new to being a part of the organization and this has been a question on my mind lately. I realize it might sound like I'm asking this flippantly, but I'm sincerely wondering if this has been addressed by the WTS. Perhaps this has been addressed in old threads, please feel free to point me to any you are aware of and can easily hunt down. When it comes to their claim to be the "faithful and discreet slave," I am wondering how they consider themselves to meet the description of "discreet." Faithful, yes, I can see how they show themselves faithful in their own way. But discreet? The dictionary.com definition of discreet in English is: adjective 1. judicious in one's conduct or speech, especially with regard to respecting privacy or maintaining silence about something of a delicate nature; prudent; circumspect. 2. showing prudence and circumspection; decorous: a discreet silence. 3. modestly unobtrusive; unostentatious: a discreet, finely wrought gold necklace. I suppose I don't see how they can make the argument that they are discreet. Between the massive publishing operation, the prophetic liberties taken, the huge online presence, the assumption of power and assignment by Jehovah... They don't seem very discreet to me. Perhaps I am misunderstanding what the text means here? Does it not translate well to the English definition? I respect the GB and WTS for what they do and what they are. They're definitely vital to the current work being done. I am just curious if they have ever had an explanation for this. Honest question. Thanks, guys!
