The following posts are my answers to previous posts of a thread on Robert's forum related to that controversial subject. Other members who wrote posts in that thread are welcome to copy and paste them here too if they wish so, as long as it is possible, of course. As I can't decide for others whether to copy and paste their posts or not, I'll just paste mine. My goal isn't to tell others what to believe or not. My point was just to explain that there are conscious and unconscious reasons as to why people believe that there are subliminal images in the Watchtower literature. In my opinion, that's just a matter of "faith"... As for the context of the following posts, a member had provided the link to his website in which he was using a kaleidoscopic technique in order to "prove" that there are subliminal images in the WT literature. ------------------------------------------------------ Dear Shikinah, I don't believe in fatalism ! The lives of our b/s are at stake ! If some folks are more interested in fables than in truth, it is not my business... as long as my conscience is clear. What the WT did in the past or is still doing is not my business. It'll be Jesus' business when he inspects his anointed slaves. My business is about the way my dear brothers and sisters react in front of what is called "fight for truth". The Governing Body may be guilty of billions of awful deeds, I don't care about it ! I care about the spirituality of my b/s and about helping them to see God only as the true Healer. What is the spiritual content of the posts of this guy ? What is the spiritual content of countless accounts of rapes done by elders ? What is it for ? The true healing process can only be achieved thanks to genuine spiritual help, through hope, through faith, through love ! I don't need someone else continually holding my face down into the mud in order to understand that it's dirty and that it hurts. I don't want to be hurt, I want to find comfort, solace ! I want others to find it too. What's the point of remaining in the mud in order to warn others how much it hurts ? Is it not better to get out of it and to help others to find the ways out too ? Do we build our faith in God with a mortar made with filth and blood or do we build our faith in God with a mortar made with the fruit of Holy Spirit? Is our mind and heart stuck on past abject deeds or on future bright hopes ?
Dear shikinah, Time will tell if this guy came on this board in search for the truth or to promote his brand new site ! If the content or the kind of arguments he's using gets later more pertinent and reasonable, I'll apologize for my unkind words. Our brain creates its own perception of reality based on how it was created. I mean that it was created to make sense of what appears before the eyes. That's why, at night, the constellations seem to have a shape whereas in reality some of its stars are billions of km away from the others. Why do we see funny shapes while peering at the clouds? Why did Chaldeans read into ideograms, considered as the words of pagan gods, from the small liver veins of the sacrificed animals ? On the contrary, that's also why we think that Chinese or African people, for example, look all the same whereas they don't have such difficulties between them. Our brain needs to get used to new facial reference points in order to easily distinguish them individually. In the same vein, our brain was created (or is more used to it) to assess more easily horizontal spatial reference points than vertical ones. Why is it so hard to evaluate vertical distances whereas horizontal ones are easier? What I want to explain is that you will find subliminal or embedded images everywhere. You will find in any picture what your imagination or your inner feelings what to find. Example : Watchman says in his essays that London is the throne of Satan. I have a proof ! What is it ? The British flag ! The site of this guy points out and folds shapes like ">" in order to create "><". From now on, with imagination, it's easy to see the face of the Devil or so, with horns and split beard. The British flag ? With imagination, I see the "X" shape and the "cross" shape embedded together. Double sign looking like the satanic pentagram.... Whether the painters of the WT did it or not is not my business. I intend to demonstrate that such denunciations are not pertinent at all and that they should be considered with the utmost cautiousness.

Here is again a post written out of memory. Dear Shikinah, That ring thing is another urban legend... Those who have been taught how to analyze pictures or who have made some publishing well know that everything in pictures have a meaning, especially the direction towards which an image is placed. For example, towards left, that is considered as unconsciously indicating the past and towards right, the future. Thus, for example, generally, if you want to illustrate someone meditating about his future, he'll be shown at sunset in front of the sea and orientated towards the right. We all know as well that the place of an image in a magazine is important and carefully chosen. When you open a magazine in front of you, there are two pages, one at your left and the second at your right. Pictures, especially if they are ads, are always located at the right side because that's the first one that you see when you turn the page, which makes an effect of surprise/discovery to the reader and then maximazes the effect of the picture. As for the text, it is generally located at the left side because it's less important. My point here is that according to the needs of the publishers or according to the publishing imperatives, pictures are retouched or oriented differently. The problem is that when you have a picture on the left side and that the direction of the picture is towards left whereas you want to illustrate something related to the future, you'll have to turn the picture around so the picture is oriented towards the right. In the same vein, even if there is no innuendo intended by the publisher, that's not always great to have a picture oriented towards the left on the left page or a picture oriented towards the right on the right page. Generally, without innuendo intended, pictures are oriented towards the center of the magazine. Of course, if there is some text on the picture, you won't be able to turn it around unless the text is the name of a brand and that you wanna hide it (that's the usual trick to that end so that's not considered as ads). In the same vein, some people turn pictures around in order to get round copyright rules. However, when you turn a picture around, you change many things and especially, contrary to a mirror, the direction of objects, which means that a left hand will become a right hand afterwards. Just try with Paint and see for yourself : Here is the original picture. turn it around horizontally : So now, that young bride can be considered as demonic and satanic, if you will, because she's wearing her wedding ring at the right hand.... What I wanted to demonstrate here is that there is a logical explanation as to why the ring was located at the right hand in the WT picture. Now, that's an issue of "faith" whether you want to believe that the WT had bad motives, that that's a demonic picture, etc. That's your right to believe anything you want. Interestingly, the wedding ring is usually worn at the left hand, excepted in Germany or in Spain where it is located at the right hand. In the same vein, a Protestant tradition locates the ring at the right hand (from Wikipedia, article entitled "Christian weddings" in French, the article in English doesn't broach that detail and as a consequence, I couldn't post it as a reference). As a result, please read from elsewhere : "Wedding Rings As with most cultures, the wedding rings are a significant part of the ceremony as well as a symbol of the union between the bride and groom. Although some people may be accustomed to wearing wedding rings on the ring finger of the left hand, Spanish wedding traditions are different. The bride and groom wear wedding rings on the right hand." If the English X-JWs consider demonic rings located at the right hand and if Spanish X-JWs consider satanic rings located at the left hand, where should the WT place the wedding rings then in the future...?

my freinds, jehovah knows that we have entirely too much time on our hands! and just like a father he hands his kids puzzle books to keep us all busy! wow has anybody been keeping up on the shroud of turins images? for years it has been just a curiosity but with nasas tests and gamma x rays its no longer an ify maybe article of curiosity. the dna is confirmed. no human father and the 3d pictures of jesus shown lately are simply astounding! one image clearly shows hundreds of whip marks and graphic details of an extreme beating. and we finaly get a look at what jesus looked like, a progect is now under way to make a life size recreation complete with acurate hair and eyes. this will certainly become a source for many little jesus statues and idol worship but at least we who know better have a picture thats real and can satisfy our want to know..
