The average child in America watches over 40,000 television commercials in a year, or over 100 a day. - Provided by RandomHistory.com No need for subliminal images or messages. If 100 commercials a day isn't enough to influence a child, you may as well give up.
This is not so much about the Watchtower and subliminal messages, as it is about what people perceive. http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2013...-hitler-jcpenney-billboard-stirs-controversy/
One of the first things I noticed in one of the study books back in the 80's, can't remember the name of it now, was an artists drawing. The chapter was about the sanctity of marriage, and had two pictures the first one of a black couple who were supposedly married, but the man had his wedding ring on his right hand, why would you deliberately not draw the ring on the mans left hand if your trying to put across something sacred as marriage? The second picture was of his wife sitting on a sofa, and on the sideboard next to her is a sculpture of the goat baphomet, who was originally worshipped by the knights templars, also known as the devil. These were two artist impressions, seems like he is no longer with the Watchtower society as I haven't seen anything of the sort since. Are these subliminal messages or just underhanded racism?
Hi Shikinah My memory is working pretty hard here - off the top of my head - I think that illustration is from the "You Can Live Forever In Paradise On Earth" from 1982 or 1983.
My dear sister Shikinah, The answer to your question is written right above. Those stories are just urban legends, just like the goat baphomet thing regarding the templar knights. I won't say that the latter ones were saints but the accusations for which they were killed were baseless. Anyway, spiritual recovery is the key and, as expected, that ain't a cinch ! That's not that which most people want ! Their kingdom is unfortunately still part of this world. Satan's baits are a dime a dozen and they are for everyone's taste !!! Yummy ! Satan throws bones at will and thousands are craving to gnaw them... and the bigger the bone, the quicker they run headlong to gnaw it !
Hi Tsaphah, The billboard is said to have been removed. However, some people and collectors may buy the kettle just because of its insolit caracteristics... http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way...-a-teapot-jc-penney-removes-hitler-billboard?
Spot on! I recall it from memory. I don't recall the detail of the wedding ring, but I remember the ram on the picture. The question you have to ask is: Who on earth would have a representation of a ram framed in the living room, where a "normal" person would have a picture of a relative? Although I don't pay much attention to the "subliminal messages", that one got me thinking, for sure. Some rotten mind was at work there. Eden
Here is the subliminal picture of a giraffe. Stare at the background for about 20 seconds and you may see it. That one is not easy, please be patient because it takes time and attention to spot it. http://nedmartin.org/v3/amused/giraffe
I had to look several times at the painting in this link "The Jurist" - because I was sure I could see a fish tail and a frog on the man's face. I wasn't sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me, or if it was the can of beer I just had with the evening meal.
The mouth is the head of the fish and the rest of the face is a chicken.... As for the nose, I'd rather think that it is a pigeon or a quail... That wikipedia article reminded me that divination is some kind of a use of pareidolia. Priests were looking for meaningful signs in omens that would make sense and hence reveal what was the gods' will.
I've read lately an article on subliminal drawings in Walt Disney pictures and movies and it reminded me of the controversies about the ones in the WT publications. Whether they're done on purpose or not is a matter of "faith" in my opinion but it's true that that's puzzling... There are many other pictures but this one remains soft and telling though :
What is apophenia ? Apophenia /æpɵˈfiːniə/ is the experience of seeing meaningful patterns or connections in random or meaningless data. The term is a misnomer incorrectly attributed to Klaus Conrad by Peter Brugger, who defined it as the "unmotivated seeing of connections" accompanied by a "specific experience of an abnormal meaningfulness", but it has come to represent the human tendency to seek patterns in random information in general, such as with gambling, paranormal phenomena, and religion. What is pareidolia ? Pareidolia (/pærɨˈdoʊliə/ parr-i-DOH-lee-ə) is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (often an image or sound) being perceived as significant, a form of apophenia. Common examples include seeing images of animals or faces in clouds, the man in the moon or the Moon rabbit, and hearing hidden messages on records when played in reverse. What is the Texas sharpshooter fallacy ? The Texas sharpshooter fallacy is a logical fallacy where a cluster of statistically non-significant data is taken from its context, and therefore incorrectly believed to have a common cause. The name comes from a story about a Texan who fires his gun randomly at the side of a barn, and then paints a target centered on the largest cluster of hits. The fallacy is closely related to the clustering illusion, which refers to the tendency in human cognition to interpret patterns in randomness where none actually exist.
this is not watchtower related. but its quite interesting ,i had some wallpaper , and it was mind bogleing it must have been expensive to make. it was on first look just a floral patern. but imbeded were hundreds of 3 d scenes, some in tiny dots some in squares others in tiny tringles all with a differant primary shaded outline. I thought i was crazy when one day i saw paris scenes on my wall and another day scenes from godzila and startrek. so i googled to see if their is a wallpaper with hidden pictures in it. and yes you can order subliminal wallpaper in a variety of themes. its reasonable to asume that if s magazine should inadvertantly take a picture of something against such a background you just might see the wolfmans face in a totaly unrelated picture.
The one with the green dot circling around on the pink ones - first of all the pink ones seem to "fade" and then I see them again. When they "reappear" I see green spots shadowing the pink ones! The green and blue spirals - I have to look at it for a few seconds and I have to lean in close to the laptop screen, before I see the blue turn to green. I can't fathom the second last one - is that a spaceship going down a psychedlic "worm-hole" in the universe? Maybe my imagination is working overtime. I could also be going cross-eyed! Wallflower
