Okay, so you disagree with all of these things, just as I'm sure they disagree with you on them, and no doubt you will have scriptures to show them your understanding, just as they will to you. Do you think you have the correct truth about all of these subjects over the Watchtower? Is that the stance you take? Is there a true religion on the planet that agrees with your understanding on every subject of the Bible? (I would like to know.) If this is the criteria above for being a true religion, don't JW's believe this very thing? From my experience they do believe in Christ Jesus. I have seen JW's taking care of orphans and widows and keeping clean from the world, so with your reasoning I see nothing here to say they are a false worship. Again, I don't see your point, I disagree with you, does that make you a false religion simply because I think your wrong? That seems to be your criteria...
Excuse me please since we are talking the memorial. I want to know why it's being celebrated March 23 instead if Nissan 14 th April 22? Can someone please explain I've got bunchs of people asking about that!
Watchtower Bible & Tract Society has THEMSELVES undermined all of their own teachings. I didn't have to do it. I did not have to prove that Watchtowerism is false religion. The 'governing body of Watchtower' has done it for me. Watchtower taught false doctrine as proved by their own abandonment of these same falsehoods. And their excuse (aka "the light get's brighter") is a twisting of scripture, applying to themselves something not intended in an effort to weasel out of their culpability. Watchtower religion IS the preaching of Watchtower doctrine. Example: Watchtower doctrine was "THE GENERATION OF 1914 WILL NOT PASS AWAY". Watchtower erased this false doctrine, a doctrine they preached from door to door (their 'religion') for many many decades. In their own words, 'fulfilling prophecy of preaching the good news'. They did away with it and replaced it with another false doctrine, and then yet another false doctrine soon to be abandoned as well of an "overlapping" balogna. Watchtower doctrine was that Jesus came invisibly in1914, and other than his supposedly 'invisible presence' initiated since then, there would be NO visible manifestation. Watchtower has since begun teaching, and preaching from door to door as per their religion, an new and improved version of whatsa commin', thus relegating yet another Watchtower invention to the scrap heap of false religion. Watchtower taught that members could not take alternative service. This was their religion. Practice this or die at Armageddon. The governing hooters threw this false teaching into the big blue bin of false religion alongside Rutherford's great crowd to rot. (I could go on for hours.) see above see above etc Watchtowerism is FALSE RELIGION. Every single thing, every teaching, every twisted nightmare the Watchtower has ever invented -not one thing missing- has been relegated by themselves ...to FALSEHOOD practiced in the name of God. EDIT: Last minute thought. But highly important. GB member Jackson sat in front of the judge in Australia under oath, in front of the lawyers, and in front of the cameras... and he DENIED the central doctrine of Watchtower, that the GB (aka the slave) are the only voice on earth by which anyone can be governed, find the truth and be saved, thus leaving all other Christian denominations AS EQUAL. He was questioned SPECIFICALLY out of Watchtower literature so that there would be no confusion. And he squirmed out, just like Zechariah 13:5 says they would!!
Apocalypse.... I see you are taking some hits on the chin here for pointing out the obvious. ALL the things you have said are set in stone...and everyone here , I do believe, will agree these are just facts; not your fabricating, twisting, etc. And if you are , like most here....an experienced Witness...that is; lived through these eras, like I have most all my life... The comments that are coming as repurcussion, are not so much DENIAL of these facts, but objections to the summation that this proves WT is as much a part of false religion as any church of Christendom's doctrines is. Do all see this? The camp here, at this site...although we are speaking openly about WT, it's doctrines, and practices...this camp wants to stay the course....ride the wave....stay inside the religion . Then, they believe God will, by 'worldly means' .....bring it down. Then....after it has crashed and burned....these men and women will jump up and say ,.."Aha! Look! We prophesied this would happen, because we all talked and discussed WT's evil ways for years! And now we are here to tell you what is true!" Is this about right? Joshua? Is this what we are to understand the moderators are planning to do? And this is why they blanch at someone telling them they are in a 'false religion'.
John S ....Very good observations. They are in a mental box. They think that the GB needs their help in making important changes... to the way microphones are handled in the kingdom hall.
Some of my personal thoughts about WT religion. The WT , like other Christian religions, is a cast-net thrown into the sea to catch fish....just as Jesus said the Kingdom is; Men, women, and children get caught up in worshiping God in this religion. (see Matt. 13:47-50) Some are really doing the best they can, believing the Bible, and the power of prayer, and God's spirit, and the reality of prophecies about the last days, Jesus' return, The Devil, and evil. And, these are not unique to Jehovah's Witnesses, as Baptists, Pentecostals, and yes, even some Catholics, too, do the very same thing, don't they? Do God and Christ hear their prayers? Answer their pitiful calls for help? Comfort? Are we to believe he always directs them to have their spiritual needs fulfilled by sending JW's to their door and get converted? That the FDS is his 'Christ on earth'? and that WE as JW angels.....are the answers to their prayers and the 'TRUTH' that they need? Because if that were true...I believe we would have been VERY busy for the last 80 years helping BILLIONS of people into the JW relief mission. The straight facts cannot be less in support of such a crazy idea. Our ministry saw virtually a teeny-tiny smattering of this in the last 40 years. That is the truth, and now, we see the GB has 'thrown in the towel'....cancelling the Theocratic Ministry School....which to me was one of the best things they ever did. But even it was not enough. Because the doctrines we were taught to carry forth were NOT the truth. And only the ,"Truth shall make you free." So...we must assume , then, that God's people, whom he intends to save, are scattered throughout religions on earth: Christian...and maybe some otherwise, and maybe some , in no religion at all....waiting for the future prophecies that will show what is truth, as foretold in Rev. 11. This is the great revealing time. The Two Witness proclamation, the Mark of the Beast, the Great Tribulation....all this seems to me to be a great earthquake-like shake-up of all religion, an hour of test, as to what is really true; evil AND good. I believe most the JW's were trying their best to fulfill prophecy, and bring Armageddon sooner. But, there was a snake in their garden.......(maybe all along). Anyone?
I agree with your points made, not just the one I quote. Thanks for that. I quoted such that I did because it was relevant to my thinking over the last few days and also the post I made concerning what we preached NOT being the truth. Good work
I have read the intelligent comments from this site for a year now. And in defense of the moderators, and main contributors, I must say this. This is a scriptural-knowledgeable group, who are trying to do something good, and PROFOUND. But not in a way I PERSONALLY would go about it, or others.Still, I tip my hat to these for what they are doing, as they do this out of love. They do not wish to abandon their loved ones to their fate ....but desire to be there for them when they fall. (But Rev. 18:4?) There is a pretty large base of JW members coming here to read, see what's going on, and some begin to speak out and like you, I, and others, tell their ideas about what we would like done about the obvious grievance that WT has become. Dark, mysterious? Oh Yes! And I see as even worse, sadly...carrying on lies they , WT birthed and grew for selfish reasons, although we, out of naive love for God and his word, knew no better. These I have stated as in the topic, 'What is the Good News of the Kingdom'? But, you brother Apocalypse, and I, and others, Joe, and others here, and others that were really good, and knowledgeable... that left ....out of frustration because they felt these brothers should quit the WT like they/we did....are trying to find a way to join together in some kind of action...UNIFIED...to help the tragedy that is ahead that these brothers and sisters, too, see is coming. It appears we are all on the same page in desire...but not method. Some here feel this is still ,'Jehovah's name people'....and he will clear the reproach away, and they , mostly alone in all religion,....will be the ones who come to the top like cream on milk , after Great Tribulation time. But, all in all.....it may be we are all doing some good, because we are making waves, if we are to believe , and it may be true...that WT is going to come out and say the Great Crowd is not the earthly-hope believers. I'm not saying this will be the 'dawn of a new day' for truth-hungry JW's...maybe even a bandage WT is trying to apply to stop the bleed-off of thinking people inside. What I am thinking is that GB watchdogs are looking at THIS VERY SITE...and others like it...as anyone can...and are moving the chess pieces according to what , apostates' are showing is a 'clear and present danger' (Bible truth)....not so they can help these sheep who are in their darkened pens receive the real light of truth....but in order to KEEP them there longer. Personally , I see those in charge as definitely having ulterior motives for God's people in their clutches. Not Bible truth at all. As Utuna said; these truths are not hard to see, if you just read the Bible yourself.
Let's imagine for a moment, a 'what if ', situation. And, I will include myself in this, because when I first received the spirit of adoption, this is what I had hopes for: Let's say we here...this group of a few Bible lovers and somewhat intelligent , matbe not genius, but intelligent enough to see the truth as Jesus teaches....let's say we were given a chance to Run the Watchtower for a year....write, direct...correct the things defective. Would you take the offer?
Yeah...well if you look at the site I mentioned before where several brothers have compiled facts about the stock-market holdings of WT.... And I typed a long piece and it went away a bit ago...because of a 15-minute passage of time... "That which is crooked cannot be made straight." Ecclesiastes 1:15 I tried to straighten out what and where. But the power structure set up years ago by J.F. Rutherford is stronger than ever. I got nowhere but in a huge dogfight with family, friends, elders, C.O.'s everybody. I had to get out before I got strangled with hate. There is no true brotherhood here...but a business corporation. "All you are brothers"....and , "your leader is one" (God)...also , "Christ is the head of the body, all you are members belonging to one another".....all of that is NOT what WT is. Really, it has become one of the run of the mill religions, all lumped together as taking over control of Christianity... although members inside its walls are sheep...or goats...just like all the rest. No, I saw no healing for WT. It's many diseases are terminal, just as many religions are. Not all, I don't think, but many. But I don't need a religion. Mine is inside me.
There are many now, and we must thank the moderators for setting up this site, as it is a gathering place for those who really love what is Bible truth. Also a spirit of love and understanding should prevail. This is an emotional experience we all are going through...and many bad things have happened to us all...and it's not even 'crunch time' yet , brother. Hang in there, everybody. Jesus Christ will be the leader wherever his spirit is respected and followed....
Let's remember to partake of his blood and body Wednesday night. I almost forgot about it, because I don't go to meetings and am not a member. So, it is good to congregate with one another. Yes Apocalypse...you are not alone out there. The sheep are longing to be with you , too, as their brother , 'Son of the Kingdom'. I rejoice with you in our wonderful hope.
Very good, and do not fear, more are ,like yourself, coming to know the truth about the Good News. WT doesn't quite know what to do about this dilemma. They didn't count on holy spirit coming in and capturing the hearts and minds of rank and file publishers as it is. And they didn't understand Jesus' truth that old wine skins cannot contain new wine. The site we are on is just one example, and there are many others out here in the www that testify; the house of WT is being scrutinized from within, by its own membership; the Congregation. Regardless of what they teach is ,'Theocracy'...the 1st century apostles and disciples looked to the congregation as the real watchdog over the elders. Jesus addressed each congregation in Revelation as to its responsibilities...even to clear out of its midst false apostles, and immoral persons; not elders having all the final say. Paul did the same.(Col 1:18) The congregation now is demanding answers of the 100-yr-old doctrines WT continues to flog along like dying horses. But, no explanation, or questioning is allowed by WT. So....we see new anointed breaking away, serving God with spirit..and yes..truth. Returning to these old concepts? No way. Who is not doing more drinking than WT shareholders, and money-makers? Who is buying more liquor and partying more than members who live at Bethel, trying to handle the dissatisfaction they are experiencing up there? I have read many experiences on line myself.... No, you go ahead and enjoy your ceremony, and fill it with prayers in holy spirit, like many readers here will do too. Let the Kingdom Halls set the tables where no one eats and drinks. Not at my house, brother. John 6:53,54
Rev 1:10,11 "By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a strong voice like that of a trumpet, saying: “What you see, write in a scroll and send it to the seven congregations: in Ephʹe·sus, in Smyrʹna, in Perʹga·mum, in Thy·a·tiʹra, in Sarʹdis, in Philadelphia, and in La·o·di·ceʹa.” Rev 1:20 "As for the sacred secret of the seven stars that you saw in my right hand and of the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars mean the angels of the seven congregations, and the seven lampstands mean the seven congregations." Rev 2:1 '“To the angel+ of the congregation in Ephʹe·sus+ write: These are the things that he says who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands:" These texts show that in the Lord's day, there should be some form or organized religion that is acceptable. If not, why would Jesus write to the congregations. The fact that he is addressing the "angel" of the congregation also means he's addressing not directly the full congregation but someone(s) in a position of authority. So a structured group of people. Sure I understand these congregations are not the literal congregations but it should represent some organized from of worship/religion. Jesus is the head of the congregations and he's addressing several points to these. Based on this it clearly shows these congregations had a lot of bad influences in them. Still Jesus recongnized them as his congregation and addresses them in the vision. Why would this be different in the literal sense. JW's have helped so many people to get to know at least all the basic knowledge about Jehovah. By being part of the congregation we help each other to take our stand against the world and its influence. Our kids are thought how to grow up and behave in a way Jehovah is pleased. Based on the above scriptures we cannot expect the organisation to be 100% clean and correct. Otherwise the prophecy in Revelation would be of no use. But does that mean it is false religion?
Perfect summation Barry -- nobody on this forum believes in a "holy human organization" But I think many of believe in a group of faithful witnesses who were prophesied to be under a "deluding influence". The prophesied stumbling will affect those gathered into this group! They stumble for a REASON - namely, as Daniel 11 words it, because those having insight notice something "not right" and are stumbled away from the group.
"Organized religion"...? The Bible Student's movement was begun as an opposing force to "Organized Religion". "RELIGION IS A RACKET AND A SNARE" Or did we all forget that piece of history.?? (rhetorical) That which we fought... we have become. On the other hand, Jesus said "where two or more are gathered together, there I am also" Where is the "organized religion" in that? James outlined true religion and this board has done nothing but oppose what he wrote in favor of a man-made institutionalized formalism with its prescribed set of catechisms. It's not so much a demon, this idea of 'organized' religion. The demon is the institutionalization of it, the institutionalization of Christ. Institutions do their best to put a bit in Jesus' mouth so they can pull the reins and get Him to go their way. It would take so little, beginning with the proper understanding of the outpouring of the spirit at Pentecost, to show the many how incredibly wrong Watchtower is. Alas. Nobody is interested in talking about this marvelous event.
Is not a false religion something that does not abide by or is not in line with one true God's word & Christ's teachings? Is not a false religion a creation by men & their beliefs. The Watchtower unfortunately bases alot of it's beliefs & doctrines on what C T Russell taught & then adapted these teachings to what then Judge Rutherford decided to bring to the table. Now there is the governing body who claims to have the enlightenment & the authority to interpret the bible scriptures to how they see fit, to bend it so as to fit in with what deem as truth. You are not permitted to have a curious mind so independently thinking is not encouraged at all, I experienced this myself, I would often question certain aspects that were being taught because they just didn't sit right in my mind or in my heart, but I was just told to just accept the food that the FDS were feeding us! The GB expect their menbers to accept their every word & not to question them or their decisions, yet we are instructed by Christ & His apostles to check what we are beein taught are we not? 1 John 4:1 "Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world." 1 Thessalonians 5:20,21 "Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good."
