I have been carefully watching over the past 12 months, constant news articles exposing the societies child abuse cases, with exposure of various individuals for various crimes. I have also noticed that this is starting to happen on a monthly basis, with these reports on on-line media, such as the Guardian and Daily Express which going from bad to worse. I am now starting to wonder, is this Jeremiah's prophesy being played out? Many believe we are on the brink of war, with Russia and China..Still the Watchtower has not revealed to us who the king of the North is, but it may come upon them as a thief in the night. wow shikinah that's a mighty scary sounding prophecy forgive me but it sounds directed straight at the w.b.t.s! still I hope they are cleaned and salvaged by Jehovah they did a lot by bringing Bibles to millions. I don't think Jehovah will forget that good.
It is scary, but it seems so timely. But the rest of the prophesy says that Jehovah will still rescue them from their enemies. But they must first be humbled and shamed and possibly dispersed. Only time will tell, but a pattern has been forming and it's been an exposing and a revealing. Hi Sis, As Yogi Berra said, "It's deja vu all over again." That article in the Express makes the WTB&TS sound like 1975! That was when all was to collapse. I believe we are getting close, but there will have to be stronger "birth pangs". Here is a portion of an email that I sent to a friend. But, the mythological gods of Greece are not going to be the ones who strike back at man and his ignorance. It’s going to be the one who created everything that exists. It also talks about the atmosphere being effected to the point where the stars, sun, and moon become darkened. I was originally referring to the droughts that are taking place all over the world. Along with the melting of the ice caps, cutting of the tropical rain forests, etc.
I see the same thing Shikinah! Whichever group these prophecies apply to, the scriptures contain plain descriptions of what they experience: 1) shame over false prophesy 2) shame over trusting in men 3) shame in the destruction of their place of worship This will lead to a number of years / days 'dressed in sackcloth', a necessary humbling and judgment from Jehovah. Why? Because the spirit is about to be poured out onto the remnant for a final witness to the world. But first the group must know that it is Jehovah, and not their own power, which accomplishes the final act. Sometimes I think we have this glorified version of the conclusion: us standing strong against the obvious 8th king, etc. In reality, I fear we're going to be made to look like crazy pedophiles (etc) for a number of years; every horrible lie and terrible thing will be said about us.
Your comments brought back to mind, a conversation I had with a friend. He was in a conversation with some Germans who continue to blame the Jews for the outcome of WWII. He had mentioned to them that the Jews were not responsible and pointed out the many good things they had accomplished and contributed to the world. Yet, they are still being persecuted for the last century. I told him that the persecution started way back in ancient times. Anyone who followed Jehovah’s directions was persecuted. As a nation, it started in Egypt and continued to today. There will be another group of people who will be persecuted in the future, until the end times come. Even after the 1,000 year reign of Christ an attempt will be made again. (Rev 20:7-15)
The Jews and the JWs have a lot in common. Both worship YHWH exclusively, both are hated for the wrong reasons, both have been and will be persecuted, both suffered under Hitler. I take WW2 as a foreshadow of the conclusion. Jews on the chopping block, and JWs refusing the whims of the empire, putting themselves on the chopping block.
I'm inclined to second your opinion! now you understand what the sign of Jonah foretold is all about! its not just Jesus rising after three days its Jehovah witnesses preaching and made to look like a foolish false prophet when nothing happened then going into a dry desert to mope yet Jehovah protected Jonah from the full heat of the sun with a gourd plant. Jehovah's witnesses did not purposefully set out to be presumtous the obeyed what they thought was Jehovah's f.d.s. who was giving the orders! so I'm not thinking Jehovah's witnesses will be punished but I do think a time of correction is ahead!
I wasn’t a Witness back in the late 50’s and early 60’s but there used to be a Loyalty Oath that a person had to make in order to work for any City, County, State, or Federal Government work. Or, even if the company you worked for did government projects, you had to sign the Loyalty Oath. If you refused, you couldn’t work for them. I don’t know if there were any Watchtower or Awake articles about this at that time. I have to think that it had a great impact on JW’s at that time. I know they were persecuted for not saluting the flag. I get strange looks when I don’t say the pledge or any gesture toward the flag during civic events. I was asked why I didn’t salute because I was in the military. I just say, “That was then, This is now. I hold no allegiance to any man-made government". That raises their eyebrows. There may come a time when that Oath will be required again, especially with all these ISIS terrorists guys.

I see the signs in Rev 11:18 as the prelude to Armageddon and not the initial tribulation itself, but the final warning before Armageddon starts, I could be wrong.. People are hungering for knowledge, and we haven't one attractive glossy informative brochure or booklet that covers these things in detail. I searched jw.org for 2 hours searching for something apart from the watchtower that I could show to those interested in the end time prophesies and couldn't find anything appropriate. While Christendom have some excellent dvd's and booklets, obtainable on free phone numbers lol, but they do not contain the truth. So who is this woman in Revelation that goes into the wilderness to give birth to her male son and is protected for so many days? is this happening now? Nice to hear from you, Shikinah. I notice the same thing - had to lend my copy of the Daniel book to a person I know who is studying the Bible. After they read it, they started reading at this forum and at Robert's forum.
Hello wallflower, So nice to hear from you sis.. Yes it's frustrating because many people are interested in the signs of the times, they want to know whats happening. There are so many conspiracy theorists who are now curious as to what the bible has to say, but we no longer have the books available. We studied the revelation book so many times it was seen as essential learning, how comes it's not important anymore? Plus as you say the Daniel book, people have asked who is the king of the north? and want to know about prophesy, but this book isn't available either. Who knows would be nice to think that there may be a new release at the conventions, I guess we'll have to wait and see. So after reading the Daniel book they started reading at this forum and Roberts, sounds about right lol. Spiritual food at the proper time is essential for spiritual growth, and it seems there are many in want of a good feed

Regarding the judgment already having begun, and the woman giving birth in the wilderness: I don't think so, in my opinion Satan has not been cast out of heaven yet; I agree with the WTBS, this event coincides with the post-Roman nation-state death-stroke. Not 1914, but upcoming --------- The vitriol against Jehovah's Witnesses does seem to have ramped up, but it's still small potatoes ultimately. Extrapolating forward, I envision an economic collapse in the West (Revelation 13), JWs awakening from slumber and going on a concerted preaching campaign about the implications. Which Satan twists into a frontal assault on the congregations through the WTBS, 1914 exposed, persecution and stumbling. THEN we flee into the wilderness, put on sackcloth in shame, and become humbled.
No I don't think the judgement has begun yet or the birth of the male child has been born I think it's in the process it's going through stages like a labour until it arrives.
