Don't have to be at work until later in the day so have some spare time.

I don't do as much house-to-house as I used to when I was younger so I just gave the Memorial invites to my back calls.

To my eye, the woman pictured above Jesus' shoulder looks like Captain Janeway from "Star Trek" (but I think it is meant to be Maria Russell).

And is that Barack Obama in there as well? (Or is it J. R. Brown?)

But the part of the illustration that really caught my attention was Jesus' thumb. I'm sorry but it does look to me as if has been sculptured or chiseled out of wood and doesn't appear to have been finished off properly. (I should point out that I have no artistic abilities - drawing "stick" people is about my limit).

I cannot help but wonder if there is a new staff member in the Art Department. Or was the illustration submitted in a hurry? Doesn't Bethel have a system where they check any items first before they go into print? How could they miss that? Jesus is the main focus of the Memorial celebration. One would think they would make sure he was drawn properly.

Every time I handed the Memorial invite to someone the other day, all I could think of was "Jesus has a wooden thumb." Now I know he grew up in the house of a carpenter, but that's taking it too far.

Question: Is the illustration of the two groups of people meant to depict ancient and modern day servants of Jehovah? Or is it meant to depict those of the anointed class and those of the other sheep?

Thanks for the link, John. I'm glad that there are others who could see Captain Janeway and Barack Obama, too. Because I was beginning to wonder if it was just me, or if there was something in the water down here in Aussie Land, making me see things. :D

Seriously speaking, I read on a little bit further through the link - there was a comment there made regarding the two groups, suggesting that perhaps that the first group was pre-1919 and the second larger group was post-1919. (Under the "new light", C.T Russell is not considered to be part of the "slave class".)
