The Abomination sits within the temple, before standing to cause desolation

The yet-to-be-revealed apostasy restrains the MOL/Abomination from being visibly "sitting" in the temple of God.

"No one is to deceive you in any way! For it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction." 2Th 2:3

Once the apostasy becomes manifest, the Abomination will be revealed sitting within God's temple.

"And now you know what is restraining him from being revealed." 2Th 2:6

"He takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God." 2Th 2:4

Throughout scriptural precedent, sitting defines possession of office, established authority, or judicial rule.

"As I looked, thrones were placed, and the Ancient of Days took his seat." Dan 7:9

Conversely, standing depicts activation, confrontation, judgment, or judicial intervention.

"At that time Michael will stand up." - Daniel 12:1

"His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives." - Zech. 14:4

Beginning the apostasy and the 2300 days of transgression, the Abomination takes its seat in the temple of God.

"For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate --- 2,300 evenings and mornings, then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state." Dan 8:13

Our Lord gives us the description of the moment the Abomination goes from its sitting position to standing in conjunction with its desolating actions.

"When you see the abomination of desolation spoken of through Daniel the prophet standing in a holy place..." Mth 24:15

And Daniel gives us the moment this occurs.

"From the time the continual is removed until the abomination causes desolation, there are 1,290 days." Dan 12:11

From the moment the Abomination stands in the holy place to cause desolation till our Lord appears in the clouds, there will be ten days of great tribulation.

"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be." Mth 24:21

"---and for ten days you will have tribulation." Rev 2:10

Then finally our Lord Christ Jesus appears in the clouds and puts an end to the desolations of the Abomination.

"...and upon the sanctuary will be the abomination producing desolation, until the appointed completion; then the desolation will be brought to its end." Dan 9:27

    Amen...
