I have a revelation question. their were 7 original church's and revelation speaks of them as 7 golden lamp stands so what ever became of them have they all died except 1?
It’s important to note that the original Scriptures did not include chapter numbers, or verse spacing. Such as Rev 8:1 should have begun with verse two, hence why everyone has always thought the seals came before the trumpets, however, the opening of the seventh seal brings in silence for a half hour, certainly not a trumpet blast. Here is a poignant scripture discussing this moment at Zep 1:7: “Keep silence before the Sovereign Lord Jehovah; for the day of Jehovah is near, for Jehovah has prepared a sacrifice; he has sanctified his invited ones.†In fact scripture tells us in what order the seals are placed. Let’s read Rev 11:19: “And the temple sanctuary of God that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple sanctuary.†Now notice that this is immediately after the seventh trumpet blew in verse fifteen. Now let’s direct our attention to chapter four of Revelation, verse one: “After these things I saw, and, look! An opened door in heaven, and the first voice that I heard was as of a trumpet, speaking with me, saying: “Come on up here, and I shall show you the things that must take place.†So the seals come directly after the trumpet blasts! (1Th 4:16, Rev 19:11) At this point the seventh trumpet, seventh bowl and as well the first six seals all occur on one single day, that of the day Jesus is enthroned at the end of the one thousand two hundred and sixty day tribulation! These are the Seven Thunders! Let’s take a look at the sixth seal and the description of events following its opening at Rev 6:12: “And I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and a great earthquake occurred.†Now let’s see the account at the seventh bowl. “And the seventh one poured out his bowl upon the air. At this a loud voice issued out of the sanctuary from the throne, saying: “It has come to pass!†And lightnings and voices and thunders occurred and a great earthquake occurred such as has not occurred since men came to be on the earth, so extensive an earthquake, so great.†(Rev 16:17, 18) Now let’s pay close attention to the next verses in chapter sixteen and how the seventh bowl correlates with the sixth seal in chapter six and the stars falling from heaven. “And a great hail with every stone about the weight of a talent descended out of heaven upon the men.†(Rev 16:21a) Now let’s compare chapter six: “And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as when a fig tree shaken by a high wind casts its unripe figs.†(Rev 6:13) And of the mountains; “And the heavens departed as a scroll that is being rolled up, and every mountain and every island were removed from their places.†(Rev 6:14) “Also, every island fled, and mountains were not found.†(Rev 16:20) Now what is the response from those in the world who experience this event? Rev 6:15-17 tells us: “And they keep saying to the mountains and to the rock-masses: “fall over us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, because the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?†There are also five other events within the Seven Thunders to examine and let’s start with the first four seals, and the ride of the four horsemen. The first horsemen and foremost event of this day is the crowning of Jehovah’s representative Christ Jesus as king as we read at Rev 11:15: “And the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And loud voices occurred in heaven, saying: “The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will rule as king forever and ever.†Now Rev 6:1-8 describes the triumphant ride of these four horsemen in accomplishing Jehovah’s purposes on earth. The meaning of their rides can be found in three locations in scripture, those being Revelation chapter six, Zechariah chapter six, and Revelation chapter eleven. Let’s read of the seals being opened and of their riding forth at Rev 6:2: “And I saw, and, look! A white horse; and the one seated upon it had a bow; and a crown was given him, and he went forth conquering and to complete his conquest.†We find the second horse at Rev 6:4: “And another came forth, a fiery-colored horse; and to the one seated upon it there was granted to take peace away from the earth so that they should slaughter one another; and a great sword was given him.†Next at Rev 6:5: “And when he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say: “Come!†And I saw, and, look! A similar event will occur when Jesus is enthroned, and not only that but those who are sealed in that covenant position who have lived and died in service to Jehovah will be raised to heavenly life. As well those who have the hope of living for ever in the renewed paradise earth will also receive the Holy Spirit in sealing them at that moment! As we read at Joel 2:28 those alive will share a similar experience as those of the first century: “And after that it must occur that I shall pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh, and your sons and your daughters will certainly prophesy.†Now of those who are raised to heavenly life; “who will eventually total 144,000†the ninth verse of chapter six in Revelation reads: “And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the witness work that they used to have. Did those churches teach mutually exclusive doctrine? One taught hellfire, the other eternal cutting-off, one Jesus is God, the other Jesus is the son of God? I don't know WHAT those represent today (if anything), but I don't think they represent 20,000 different denominations all teaching various differing things.
Thanks Joshua, you're pretty good at this! So let me ask a semi-fleshly possibly myopic question: It seems that 'conspiracy' types are gearing up for a collapse of the US dollar. I agree with their reasoning, but I have to think that is not possible, since the 'kingdom is darkened' (anglo-America) during the 5th trumpet blast. Any thoughts on that? Personally, I'm thinking this 'financial collapse' won't happen, but the "rulers" will instead decide to initiate some sort of east-west war -> leading to the 'judgment of the house of God' I poorly explained in the opening post.
SingleCell, all very good questions to ask and the answer lies in chronology. Chronology in scripture describes which event comes before and after another. So if you have a certain event, let's say the day the new world is ushered in, then you can work your way back through events to determine in what order each event occurs. It is then at that point you can go forward and each event will describe itself as to it's meaning. This is the only way to determine events such as the fifth trumpet. Scripture describes when in the course of events Anglo-America goes down, and that is 450 days before the new world is ushered in. So obviously that is well after the 1260 days begin of the witnessing in sackcloth. "I kept on beholding at that time because of the sound of the grandiose words that the horn was speaking; I kept on beholding until the beast was killed and its body was destroyed and it was given to the burning fire. But as for the rest of the beasts, their rulerships were taken away, and there was a lengthening in life given to them for a time and a season." (Dan 7:11,12) This event describes the destruction of the beast in which the small horn comes from. That beast is the Anglo-American world power. This same event is described in the fifth trumpet and bowls. (All the trumpet and bowls are one and the same event) “And the fifth angel blew his trumpet. And I saw a star that had fallen from heaven to the earth, and the key of the pit of the abyss was given him.†(Rev 9:1) “And the fifth one poured out his bowl upon the throne of the wild beast. Dear sis Thinking, Frank has been told for years that his beliefs are off base. Here and on Robert's forum, he's been told about it in every imaginable way and by countless different people. At some point, there comes a moment when we must give up trying and let people live their lives and believe what ever they want, no matter our opinion about it. The unique person you can control is yourself. Free will is a fundamental law. He knows what we think about his beliefs. When Jehovah decides that the time has come for him to know about his mistakes and to correct them, He'll know the proper words and ways to that end and Frank will react positively. I'm sure about it ! Besides, there are also numerous issues about which his opinion and take are sensible and grounded... ...bar his opinion about the greenhouse effect... Just kidding !
Hi Utuna: I know that you said this in jest, at least a little, but I do not deny the greenhouse effect, but only that it is way too simplistic an explanation for the dynamics of the earth's weather cycles. We know so very little on the subject and to say that it is due solely or for the most part due to increases in CO2 caused by mankind is just wrong and naive. As I said before, we will get a big laugh at it in the Kingdom of God (yes thinking, I will be there) when we truly understand and fathom just how marvelous and complex our ecosystem is. Are mankind destroying the earth's ecosystem? Many are trying their best. But the anthropomorphic global warming argument is simply a political issue used to give those in power, even more power and to enrich their own pocket's. They are finding now that during a period from 950-1250 ce that there was warming period much like the latter part of the 20th century up to the late 90's and even warmer at times and I doubt that was caused by man at that time, so what caused it then? frank

I could not Evan begin to tell you who's beliefs are right and whose is wrong and I dare not try. we are frail humans very very far gone in both our body's and mind and our spiritual thinking. the one think that I do know and that can not be contested is that Jehovah is the true Almighty god. and if we knell down before him and confess our sinfullness and let the holy spirit lead us as we do all we can to submit to Jesus as our Lord. then we need not worry about the eternal punishment , and can look forward to being among those that enter into life.I can't prove the existence of eternal anhilation nor hell but the existence of eternal life through Jesus has already been demonstrated. I have no earthly idea what half the Bible scriptures mean. but I remember Jesus words when he said you keep on searching those scriptures because you think by means of them you will have eternal life but those scriptures are their to proclaim me but you just won't come to me so that you can live! that's the number 1 reason I just can not quote endlessly bible scripture and do my best to get you to believe what I believe.. for one not one of you here would believe unless it happened personally to you, and then many would still say it was the devil that resurrected you from hell so you could spread lies! therefore my admonision is go to Jesus in prayer and let him she unto you what he has for you. and in the mean time treatment each other with the same deep courtousy as if Jesus was standing their watching. and pray fervently that Jehovah will bless yourself and fellowman.that's the safe wise path. anymore or less is danger ground.
