Jesus made it clear what he meant by buying and selling in Revelation, wouldn't you say? Rev 3:18 "I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may become dressed and that the shame of your nakedness may not be exposed, and eyesalve to rub in your eyes so that you may see."
Hmmm, only 19 bots listening in. In the WSJ (Wall Street Journal) today (May 25, 2017), in the Business & Finance section, is an article titled: “You Are a Wide-Open Book on The Web”. The online story is located here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/your-data-is-way-more-exposed-than-you-realize-1495657390 It’s written by Geoffrey A. Fowler, but you can’t read the whole story unless you subscribe. If you don’t subscribe, you may want to subscribe online for the astounding cost of “$1 for 2 months”. What a deal! Here are a few snippets from the article: “It’s a stark reminder that erosion of privacy is a cancer of digital life. And while we might not talk about privacy as often as the latest cool app, it’s only getting worse.” “I hear this all the time: ‘I don’t have nothing to hide.’ The truth is, pretty much everybody has something online they want to keep private.” “I have a theory: People would care more about privacy if they realized how exposed they already are.” “My volunteers brought their laptops and logged in. What they found provoked their most uncomfortable reactions.” “Depending on how much you use Google products, there could be an hour-by-hour map of everywhere you’ve ever visited. Yes, everywhere.” Siri, Alexa - Echo Dot, Cortana; A.I. assistants can give you the news, order you a pizza, and tell you a joke. All you have to do is trust them—completely. http://www.slate.com/articles/techn...velties_anymore_they_re_our_terrifyingly.html Hey Folks, here is the idea from 49 years ago. Some of you may be too young to have seen it then. The idea actually comes from a short story written by Arthur C. Clarke in 1948.
Greetings brother... I agree with you about privacy, and I understand any concerns, but I assure you that it would take a government agency to tap into our site here, and as it stands it is still illegal to survey an American Citizen without a search warrant. Next, I might add that I'm not sure any of us here could offer any agency a source of Intel that would assist them in any matters of concern in the world, so the question is; How would the financial expense to discover us benefit any matters pertaining to national security? Finally, it is my opinion we have scriptural precedence to say we should take the chance in public to offer understanding in scripture. If that be in person our whole life and well being are at risk, with such witnessing as door to door, or just face to face with neighbors, and I would say (as my opinion) the internet is far less dangerous. We have inherent safety measures in place online one does not have witnessing in person. It's just my simple opinion that we could let fear of our Lord effect our actions by burying his talents in the ground until he returns, or we can try and multiply them. Th 5:15,16 "People light a lamp and set it, not under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it shines on all those in the house. Likewise, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your fine works and give glory to your Father who is in the heavens." As always, simply my opinion...
I can't believe it !!!! You're back !!!! Yay !!!!!!! I'm so happy ! I can't believe it !!!! I'm back too....!!!!!!! Yay !!!!!! I'm so happy too !!! On a lighter note; Well, I want the NSA, the FBI and the CIA to know that today was a day off here in France and that I worked through Internet early in the morning, that I walked my bitch later for 1h30 and that she flushed out a hare someplace in the hair grass, that I transplanted salads in my garden later in the morning and that after eating at noon (delicious Boeuf Bourguignon...), I spent the rest of the afternoon inside studying my favorite Bible-based books because it was hot like crazy outside.... I can't wait to share some of the gems I found later here with you all.... On a more serious note, I agree with what Josh said. "For those rulers are an object of fear, not to the good deed, but to the bad. Do you want to be free of fear of the authority? Keep doing good, and you will have praise from it; for it is God’s minister to you for your good. But if you are doing what is bad, be in fear, for it is not without purpose that it bears the sword. It is God’s minister, an avenger to express wrath against the one practicing what is bad." - Rom 13:3-4
Hi Joshuastone7 & Utuna, I think you have fallen for the ruse that it’s all innocent information about buying habits. The governments don’t need to do the work when businesses can spend the time and money to collect the data and analyze it. There is NO SECURE SITE on the Internet! Let me repeat that - - - NO SECURE SITE!! NO PRIVACY, Period. It has recently been proven. I’ll just say this: They (governments) have been doing this for a long time. They just have improved methods and programs. The tactics are still the same. The best example I can give, is Satan. He has used the same tactics for thousands of years. I don’t know if you are familiar with the poem by the German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller. It says: “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.” Be aware = Beware. Paranoid Eyes - Pink Floyd
No. I'm just throwing out ideas. We will not know until it is accomplished. Here's another one about "the man of lawlessness". He/Them, probably not singular, likely plural. They being those whom the apostles warned about bringing in false teachings such as the trinity. This teaching came in during the late first and early second century, by converted Greeks. One of the first on record was Tertullian (ca. 160-225). This teaching was influenced by Greek philosophic rhetoric. It is complicated, and that's where Greek philosophy enters the picture. "Under the influence of Stoic philosophy, Tertullian believes that all real things are material. God is a spirit, but a spirit is a material thing made out of a finer sort of matter. At the beginning, God is alone, though he has his own reason within him. Then, when it is time to create, he brings the Son into existence, using but not losing a portion of his spiritual matter. Then the Son, using a portion of the divine matter shared with him, brings into existence the Spirit. And the two of them are God’s instruments, his agents, in the creation and governance of the cosmos. The Son, on this theory, is not God himself, nor is he divine in the same sense that the Father is. Rather, the Son is “divine” in that he is made of a portion of the matter that the Father is composed of. This makes them “one substance” or not different as to essence. But the Son isn’t the same god as the Father, though he can, because of what he’s made of, be called “God”. Nor is there any tripersonal God here, but only a tripersonal portion of matter - that smallest portion shared by all three. The one God is sharing a portion of his stuff with another, by causing another to exist out of it, and then this other turns around and does likewise, sharing some of this matter with a third. Against the common believers concerned with monotheism, Tertullian argues that although the above process results in two more who can be called “God”, it does not introduce two more gods - not gods in the sense that Yahweh is a god. There is still, as there can only be, one ultimate source of all else, the Father. Thus, monotheism is upheld. The one God is unipersonal both at the start and the end of this process. Nor are the persons equally divine; Tertullian holds that the Son is “ignorant of the last day and hour, which is known to the Father only.” (Tertullian, Praxeas, ch. 27; Matthew 24:36)" From; (History of Trinitarian Doctrines, 3.1.2 Tertullian)
Hello Tsaphah. Of course, you are right, there is no secure site and no privacy. And there is no doubt that ultimately this will lead to total control of individuals. It is already impossible to manage a bank account without having an internet access. Soon we will not be able to buy without having a smartphone connected to make the payments. On the other hand, one can also prevent himself without falling into extremism. Internet has many positive sides. When you need help to do something, you ask the question on a search engine and you have hundreds or thousands of responses. People who have nothing to gain answer you and are ready to help you. So you see, there are still good persons. Most of all, even though until a few years ago it was thought that only Jehovah's Witnesses were interested in the Word of God, and that apart from the Watchtower it was only the spiritual desert, today we realize that this is not the case. Where would I be today if, about three years ago, I did not type the phrase "King of the North" in a search engine? I would never have arrived on Robert's site, I would have kept waiting for the Watchtower to tell me who this mysterious King of the North is, who changes his identity as I change my shirt. We can very well surf on the Internet and taking every precaution: we do not leave our name, our e-mail, we can uses temporary electronic services, we can surf with TOR, and full of other solutions. All this to say: Tsaphah, do not abandon us!
Hi Baruq, I have to say that the Internet has finally become the super highway that was spoken of 30 years ago. I also found Robert by searching for bible information. That was about 2005. He helped bring me back to truly studying our “owners manual” = the Bible. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t care what the governments of the world and their agents do with my information. I just don’t buy into their systems. With the god of this system running things, I’m quite aware of his deceptions. I’m not going to allow them to steal my joy. So, no I will not abandon my fellow slaves of Jehovah and His Christ. I will continue to attempt to share what I have learned in my studies. I consider myself as a free agent of Jehovah and Christ Jesus. I have tried just about every religious organization and found none to be truthful. JW’s are the closest to the truth. Yet, similar to the Israelites, they have their faults. Be careful in believing those so called temporary electronic services such as TOR. Any code can be decoded. Also; can you really trust that VPN? They aren’t providing it for free. If they’re making money from that, what do you think they are making from selling Your surfing patterns? You still have to have a provider to access your VPN. If the NSA, CIA, FBI, and others can be hacked/intercepted, what can be done to you?
