    Dear Gabriel,

Please, don't feel guilty. We're just talking. No biggie !

John made a comment and Josh answered accordingly.

I just wanted to remind SingleCell and John how it all began... ;)

If you are reminding us of how it began…then why not state it correctly???:p

Let’s refer back to post #1…there were two questions asked which included “?â€￾ marks.

And the only thing that was answered was the remark that your claiming that Josh answered…that wasn’t even one of my questions but it was an observation.

Sorry for asking to begin with....:( I'll check back in on 9/7/2021 :) (today's date 9/5/2013)

What I do find Syria to represent is a parting of the population from the established powers of the world.

During the build-up to Iraq / Afghanistan you still saw echoes of times past - the 'WW2' generation patriotism which naively thought the USA represented a solution to mans' problems.

The echo of that idea is gone now.

---------- why is that important? (if true) -------------

The 'old guard' of nationalism / christendom must fall before the world will get behind the king of the north which seeks to "change times and seasons". (purely deductive opinion)

All playing into the deception against humanity, leading to a conclusion that 'we might make it if we just do XYZ' (utopia violently enforced by 'necessity').

Rather than repent and come to know Jehovah.

So this is just 'wars and rumors of wars' in my opinion, but it does seem to carry with it a change in thinking amongst the world [or more accurately, making prominent a change which was occurring in the background].

... and they will worship the beast.

Yes panda...THEN... The appointed times to start with the judgement with the house of God...........I'm sure there is a scripture somewhere that says this but also....and THEN he turns his attention to the nations........I'm not sure how all this fits in with Syria etc.
......josh I have always wondered if the UN and the NGO was the start of the mark of the beast and if we will all have to make this decision individually at some time in the future.......I guess we will see it come together as it all unfolds .

I was wondering the same thing John. Although I don't know much about Syria's history further on in chapter 17 it also talks about the devastation of Israel in the same way but since the 40's Israel has formed as a nation again

its interesting that the 2 beasts Babylon (lion) and Persia (bear) from Daniel chapter 7 are now Iraq And Iran which have been in the headlines very much

Then there's the 3rd beast leopard (Greece) in the headlines as well didn't they bankrupt ?

the 4th beast (Rome) with 10 horns - I would assume the 10 horns would have formed from the Roman Empire - Europe and USA? Or maybe 10 horns Europe and the 11th horn USA?

just trying to get a grip on the prophecy in Daniel chapter 7 also implementing the suggestion by Frank of taking the prophecy step by step or verse by verse

from reading the wt's "Daniel" book the 11th horn is British empire - formed out of Europe and plucked the 3 horns of their power being Spain, Netherlands and France
this rings true to me as when one observes the world today we can see how Spain had vast power over the Latin Americas, France left its mark over the pacific, Asia, Africa, Canada, and the USA The Dutch ruled over Africa, parts of Asia and nearly Australia but Britain ended up ruling the land done under

britain was definitely the dominating power from the 1700's to the 1900's then the USA's power appeared during world war 2 According to the wt interpretation the eyes and mouth of this 11th dominating horn is the USA because of its influence over the world today. This all makes sense to me
