    Memorial Bible reading:

    (Daytime events:Nisan 16)

    Luke 24:1-12

    Saturday, March 30

Keep these things without prejudgment, doing nothing according to a biased leaning.

    —1 Tim. 5:21.

Three Biblical examples under score the danger of acting hastily after hearing only one side of
    a controversy.

    Potiphar believed
his wife’s story that Joseph had tried to rape her. With unjustified
anger, Potiphar had Joseph thrown into prison. (Gen. 39:19,20)

    King David believed Ziba,
who said that his master, Mephibosheth, had sided with David’s enemies.
    “Look! Yours is
    everything that belongs to Mephibosheth†was David’s hasty response.(2 Sam. 16:4; 19:25-27)

    King Artaxerxes was told that
the Jews were rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls and were about to
rebel against the Persian Empire. The king believed the false report and ordered that all rebuilding
in Jerusalem cease. Asa result, the Jews stopped work on God’s temple. (Ezra 4:11-13,23, 24)

    Christian elders wisely
follow Paul’s counsel to Timothy to avoid making premature judgments.

Reminds me of the scripture at Proverbs 18:13 "When anyone is replying to a matter before he hears it, that is foolishness on his part and a humiliation."

That reminds me of all those gullible people online who buy into the sob stories (def: A tale of personal hardship or misfortune intended to arouse pity.) posted by mythomaniacs who want to use the sacrosanct status of victim of the WT for whatever reasons they might have. Some people are expert in the art of fudging their own issues by accusing others of their own errors (like those who treat the JWs with contempt and who thereafter complain because the latter ones aren't kind with them... lol). A saying goes which is often true : "That's the first hen that sings that laid the egg". That's not always the one who shouts out the louder who suffered the most ! That's also not the one who suffered the most who shouts out the louder !

The WT does have skeletons in the closet but some virulent anti-JWs do have some too... Nothing is ever black/white, the WT always being among the villains, being the ugly dragon and the singing hens being the innocent princess held captive in the dungeon and waiting for the white knight in shining armor to rescue them... What a joke !

Does the status of victim of the WT act like a washing powder that washes whiter than white ? Some naive people seem to think that it does...

  4. Hi Wallflower:

They must have gotten a referral to their "mothers" law firm. Rev. 17:5.

wait a minute , I resemble that remark ....still looking for that white knight ... but I'm afraid to say that I may have to wait for the one riding on a white horse with "the name" on his thigh ..

    Revelation 6:2
    King James Version (KJV)
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

    Revelation 19:11
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

Somehow, that's like the Good Samaritan... We're all waiting for a Good Samaritan to help us out and all forget that we should be a Good Samaritan for others in the first place.

The Samaritans were despised by the Jews but in this particular case, the sins and the contempt of the Jews towards him didn't impede him from doing what was right and to demonstrate selfless love and concern towards one of them. His sense of entitlement wasn't overly enlarged by the use of his status of victim of abuse to that end.

I'm not talking about you here, that's just a general statement. ;)
