all right , caught this on another page and since I have not been keeping up on the KM's and mag lately due to other reading (lately it's been the influence of gnosticism on early christianity) the Nicolaitans the entrance of the "divine feminine" slowly taking root in Catholicism so I have been forgoin' the monthly "feed" from the WT except the study stuff ..sooooo , apparently I missed the Aug KM which last page had this article , the only place I can find online that has a pdf download my anti virus kicks off so I can't access it ..Does anyone know how to get to the KM's online at jw.org as I think I really need to see this one .. "but I looked down at my KM for the last talk of the service meeting and noticed the topic was "We Are Not False Prophets"
according to the bible if a man says something is about to happen and he claim that message is from Jehovah, and it does not happen.then you must not listen further. hmm I know a whole religion that did that. am I supposed to ignore the bible and still trust them? no! brother Franz once a beloved bethel brother dared raise that concern. he was disfellowshiped and labeled apostate. anyway try Firefox to get to the site if you still have problems download and run malware bytes run a full scan that fixes most issus
Dear sister POP, Please, download the pdf file through sendspace (==> Click here to start download from sendspace). It works ok, I tried it. http://www.sendspace.com/file/1s275r
Here is one written in 1726, but not published until 1847. Very interesting information. Go here to download a free copy. "CHURCH HISTORY, BOOK THE FIRST; CONTAINING THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH, FROM THE BIRTH OF CHRIST TO CONSTANTINE THE GREAT. By Johann Mosheim http://ia701207.us.archive.org/21/items/mosheimschurchhi00mosh/mosheimschurchhi00mosh.pdf
JIG , yes I understand that , but I never associated with JW's because of their interpretations (I always held that my walk with God had to be worked out by ME) and somehow the years I spent there I missed "seeing" the love of punishment meeted out so readily , because of my seriously abused youth my study has always been inclined towards finding the characteristics of Love ..So even back then I pretty much only read WHAT I WANTED which was every article having to do with character. I pretty much skipped everything else as I still do today .My appreciation for humanity is slow of growth and difficult to apply in my own life because even what I understand I find very very difficult to apply ..(like your life experiences which give you understanding , my own lead me down the road of wanting to "bitch slap" someone for stupidity rather than leading the way gently down a path to understanding , condemnation is something I was "raised on" )and finding the Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, a difficult thing to apply to others ... UToo , my computer does not like that site and that's where I attempted to download when said computer said not to use this site ..preference would be directly from the WT site as then I could be sure of it's publication. Currently reading "The Lost Books of the Bible , Great Rejected Texts" by Joseph B Lumpkin ..two inches of paperback .Tho I took Latin in Catholic School I didn't know that sophistry or sophis was taken from the gnostic view of "Sophia" the "wife" of God who accidentally created demi-gods and thusly the cosmos .Also in the book is a reference to Julius Caesar having been visited by a ruling Vedic and a companion vedic monk in 16AD and having introduced him to the Vedas , the monk proceeded to burn himself to death to prove his faith . And apparently this act was well known in Antioch at the time ...So there is a "reason" why Paul would have referenced that in Corinthians. Though very familiar with most mythology I found that I had no knowledge of Gnosticism's beliefs of cosmological origins . The introduction to the gnostic texts in the book is a chapter on the history of gnosticism origins and influence in the early days of christianity and in the currant religions surrounding Rome , Greece and Asia Minor at the time . Tsaphah , thank you I would probably order that on Amazon. I don't like to do much reading on the computer I find it very wearying to spend much time on it . And I spend too much as it is .wow it is online and in LARGE PRINT ...
Dear sister POP, KMs aren't available online on the official website. Only registered elders with login codes have access to them. Well, I'll post a screenshot of the copy I downloaded right at the page you requested within a handful of hours. By the way, did you find what you were looking for ? If you didn't, please let me know.
looking for ? was that the link you gave me ..then yes Guess I find it stupifying that there are "secrets" that the "leaders" feel need to be kept .My life is open that is how I choose live it , even our own sins will be fully viewable for all upon the full revealing of the Christ . For such is the judgment seat being reserved for us . The depth of his mercy and undeserved kindness will be fully shown in those who are the least worthy of it. If we cannot give this to all those with whom we deal we have not even begun to understand what Jesus taught ..Being merciful is not the established order among the "leadership" being erected among this particular "church" , somehow that "while we were yet sinners , Christ died for us" has not taken root except among individuals within the flock . It must take root in all who would love life and desire to live as the Christ taught. In retrospect it is the one trait I find most difficult to apply and I fully understand why that is so ...being the recipient of undeserved hatred tends bring the shields up and our reliance needs to be that "all things work to the good for those who love God " ... I find Hatred the most disturbing thing on the planet next to lying . I require avoiding it and where it is practiced openly, and not to make daily association with those who practice it ..
Wow , its true then ...they have been rattled right down to marrow ...Arrrhhgggg , I suspect that like the announcements to Pharaoh that the hardening of hearts might be in progress , I would say that I would hope for the opposite. had to go read the pages in the "Reasoning" book on apostasy today ...how in merciful heaven did I never "see" those statements .. I might have let my children continue in what I considered abuse of their little psyche's ... but I considered protecting them from the psychological damage of being labeled for things they knew nothing of ...dealing with a broken mother was one thing , having to endure hatred for the things they were "subjected" to as victims was entirely another issue ...one makes choices only with what one has knowledge of , I would have stayed if I had felt my kids had a chance of mental survival and having their thinking ability not colored as so many have, that have endured not only being victimized but then treated as though they are liars ..as so many many have had to endure and become haters of God ..
I'm sure that you would have loved that book "Fear and Fault" if it had ever been translated in English. The writer is a German. It's a must-read indeed ! "Drewermann diligently presents every possible evidence to support his claim that a Christianity based on fear is contrary to the very message of Jesus, whose religion is based on trust. One who healed by means of trust, Jesus accepted those marginalized by the religious and theological elite of his time and challenged any system of religious power that is based on fear and intimidation. Christianity, according to Drewermann, soon abandoned the message of faith as trust and replaced it with a message of faith as belief in a certain set of doctrines which must be accepted as historical facts or else one goes to hell. Early Christianity thus adopted the very principle of religious violence that the one it calls its founder fought to his death. Drewermann suggests that Christianity can best rediscover its own spiritual truth, namely, faith as trust, if it learns from the art of psychoanalysis how to confront "the inner enemy nonviolently."" From here. In a nutshell, he also says that Jesus' message was for us humans to get rid of any feelings of guilt thanks to his sacrifice. Men have used Christianity the wrong way round. Instead of making humans feel free and redeemed, Christianity has become an endless rehash of feelings of guilt. Redemption is a gift but a certain elitist frame of mind and the race towards perfection perverted its power. Jesus abolished guilt and men made it come back even more powerful. Thus, we don't serve God with peace of mind but because we fear his wrath if we ever stumble...
Said otherwise, why did Jesus' message become an insurmountable cause of frustration and fear ? It reminds me of the Ugly Duckling... "The cat asked, "Can you arch your back, purr, or make sparks?" "No." "Then keep your opinion to yourself when sensible people are talking." The duckling sat in a corner, feeling most despondent. Then he remembered the fresh air and the sunlight. Such a desire to go swimming on the water possessed him that he could not help telling the hen about it. "What on earth has come over you?" the hen cried. "You haven't a thing to do, and that's why you get such silly notions. Lay us an egg, or learn to purr, and you'll get over it." What ? Jesus was perfect, thousands of his disciples are pioneers and in good standing and you can't even hold a candle to them ? You must be such a dead loss !
Had an acquaintance stop by today who needed to store something in my garage , over coffee as we caught up since it's been many months since we have seen each other being rural as we are and busy , she mentioned that on the Prime Time News a lawyer in Cali (california) had filed an amendment to have the statue of limitations for crimes against children removed so they could belatedly prosecute "paedophiles" when the knowledge of the abuse surfaces ..I don't watch US news much (Al Jazeera when I do or BBC) as I find them less skewed than american media ..I was surprised it had moved that quickly from being initiated , to landing on prime time Tele ...here in Oregon no less ..I was surprised as the Tower is usually successful in suffocating attempts to expose "truths" hidden within its rank and file. I had read so on the Survey page , but hadn't expected it to hit the media with a force enough to be featured here in Oregon a full state away ...It's been a few years since the BBC Panorama episode which has faded some but that was in the UK not here ...in addition to that I had watched a documentary on prisons here and paedophiles have a reputation among them as being so reprehensible that even the worst criminals in prison want them dead ...landing in prison can be a death sentence for many ..
