Although apostate Israelites ate pork (Isa 65:4; 66:17), the Apocryphal books of First Maccabees (1:65, Dy) and Second Maccabees (6:18, 19; 7:1, 2, Dy) show that during the foreign domination of Palestine by the Syrian king Antiochus IV Epiphanes and his vicious campaign to stamp out the worship of Jehovah, there were many Jews who refused to eat the flesh of swine, preferring to die for violating the decree of the king rather than to violate the law of God.

This JW article is quoting it, I've never heard of it.

Is it part of those demonic books Enoch and Jasper? If it is, why on Earth would they cite it? It's like going to the book of Mormon to prove a point.

Its a book of history, and although not inspired, it does contain some factual history such as the Maccabean revolt against Antiochus, representing the first fulfillment of the disgusting thing being put in place in the temple, and hence the origin of Hanukkah.
