I thought it would be a good topic to continue from the old site.
A little something to relax you. Meditate on the word of God.

“One thing I have asked from Jehovah—
It is what I shall look for,
That I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life,
To behold the pleasantness of Jehovah
And to look with appreciation upon his temple
    .â€￾ (Ps. 27:4 NWT)

I used to listen to whatever sounded good on the radio. but I had to stop and take a look at myself when I found myself singing imoral lyrics that were stuck in my head from the radio.. yes watch out I say,and watch well because a catchy tune embeds itself deep in your brain .if you listen to songs with bad lyrics its worse than brain washing, now I purposefully look for christian stations with catchy beats.. I love the great songs like revelation song, strong enough to save, our god, bless the lord oh my soul, he reins, they are good clean wholesome songs that incite me to praise jehovah, yes their can be doctorinal errors in those songs. but I sure would rather be huming bless the lord oh my soul rather than, hotblooded!

    Well said JIG!

I love the 'Walk in Integrity' song, beautiful. You can really tell people identify with it as the singing becomes a bit louder and more harmonious :)

This song, from Les Misérables, is sung as a prayer. Jean Valjean has just received a letter for his adopted daughter, Cosette. The letter is from Marius, expressing his love for her. Marius is at the barricade, ready to fight for the freedom of the people. He will likely be killed in the battle. Valjean has read the letter and realizes the great love between them. Valjean realizes he is getting old and the time will come when Cosette will need someone to take care of her. So he prays to God to keep Marius safe. But for me, it is a prayer for everyone who has lost a loved one, or is about to lose a loved one.

    God on high
    Hear my prayer
    In my need
    You have always been there
    He is young
    He's afraid
    Let him rest
    Heaven blessed.
    Bring him home
    Bring him home
    Bring him home.
He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
    The summers die
    One by one
    How soon they fly
    On and on
    And I am old
    And will be gone.
    Bring him peace
    Bring him joy
    He is young
    He is only a boy
    You can take
    You can give
    Let him be
    Let him live
    If I die
    Let me die
    Let him live
    Bring him home
    Bring him home
    Bring him home.

I work with a sister,I know I shouldent tease her about the way the kingdom songs get sung at the hall but oh lordy! if someone would just dare to publish the kingdom songs on you tube with a great praise band behind them how glorious they would sound! Peter furler of the news boyz came close to me and my daughter, at the he reins concert and held out the mike toward my row! since it was a live album I told my chicken daughter to sing out, well she was too shy, but I sung with everything I could muster and I can be heard quite clearly on the he reins song! peter furler is a true blue worshiper of jehovah,he make no small effort in encourageing people to praise jehovah by name and his concerts are awesomely powerfull with the presence of holy spirit, its soooo glorious when gods spirit just pours like rain on everybody their. you can feel the great holy presense of god smileing as the thousands sing praises to jehovah with all their hearts! oh how wonderfull if the kingdomhall would get more asertive in the music dept! the bible says god inhabits the praises of his people! I dont know any other way to say this so I will say it straight out.. if you have weak praise in your church, you have a weak inhabitation of god dureing song time..I dont know about you but to me,I come to church to sing, and praise first and foremost! and after that to listen to someone tell about how wonderfull jehovah has been dureing the week in peoples lives! I grow very tired hearing onley of the old prophets! I want to hear how jesus is working in your life today! and why you serve our awesome lord and god! jehovah. what does he do for you? tell it out! make others enthused about god..lordy who wants to hear endlessly changeing explainations of old doctorines? not me! I want the liveing lord! and his son and I love to tell others what he does for me! thats music! thats my song and dance! thats my god jehovah the master of music, the happy god who sings over us! yup all praises to jah in the highest!

I particularly like the part in bold.

La vie ne m'apprend rien - Life teaches me nothing

Qui ose dire qu'il peut m'apprendre les sentiments Who dares teach me anything about feelings
Ou me montrer ce qu'il faut faire pour être grand Or show me what must be done to be a major figure
Qui peut changer ce que je porte dans mon sang Who can change what is in my blood

Qui a le droit de m'interdire d'être vivant Who has the right to forbid me to be alive
De quel côté se trouvent les bons ou les méchants Which side are the good or the wicked
Leurs évangiles ont fait de moi un non-croyant Their Gospel has made of me an unbeliever

La vie ne m'apprend rien Life teaches me nothing
Je voulais juste un peu parler, choisir un train I just wanted to talk, to choose a train
La vie ne m'apprend rien Life teaches me nothing
J'aimerai tellement m'accrocher, prendre un chemin I'd like so much to hold on, to take a path
Prendre un chemin To take a path

    Mais je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas But I can't, I don't know
Et je reste planté là And I stay stuck here
Les lois ne font plus les hommes Laws don't make men anymore
Mais quelques hommes font la loi But a few men lay down the Law
    Et je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas But I can't, I don't know
Et je reste planté là And I stay stuck here

À ceux qui croient que mon argent endort ma tête To those who think that money dazes my mind
Je dis qu'il ne suffit pas d'être pauvre pour être honnête I reply that poverty isn't a guarantee of honesty
Ils croient peut-être que la liberté s'achète They must think that freedom can be bought

Que reste-t-il des idéaux sous la mitraille What does remain of high ideals under a hail of bullets
Quand leurs précheurs sont à l'abri de la bataille When those who preach them are sheltered from the battle
La vie des morts n'est plus sauvée par des médailles The lives of the dead aren't saved by medals anymore

Mais je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas
    Et je reste planté là
Les lois ne font plus les hommes
Mais quelques hommes font la loi
Et je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas
    Et je reste planté là

Je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas
    Et je reste planté là
Les lois ne font plus les hommes
Mais quelques hommes font la loi
Et je n'peux pas, je n'sais pas
    Et je reste planté là

    La vie ne m'apprend rien

    HI Utuna,
Sorry but this was blocked for copyright purposes as stated:
"This video contains content from Warner Chappell and EMI, one or more of whom have blocked it in your country on copyright grounds.

    Sorry about that."

I would have loved to have heard it. I'll try to see if I can find in through a search.
    Success:
Daniel Balavoine - "La Vie ne m'apprend rien" with Lyrics  This was a live performance.

    Hi Tsaphah !

Yes, the first time that song was sung was by Daniel Balavoine and Liane Foly sang it again several years later. I had found 2-3 different videos on Youtube of her version because although I love Daniel Balavoine's voice, I think that the way she sings that song is great, but the quality of sound was very poor in the videos I found. The one I posted was the only one with a good quality. In my opinion, Liane Foly's voice, its timbre, fits that song very well (well, I don't know if that's properly said in English but I know that you'll understand what I mean). I know that you like details about music so that song was from the "starmania" rock opera produced in the late 1970s (please check the English version for songs you may know).

If you have a try on Youtube or Dailymotion with her name and that song, you may find a video that isn't prohibited overseas... If you really can't find one working video, I'll try to send you via PM the mp3 version taken from here : http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ There is an English version, just click on the English language.

I've already used it and it works ok ! The size of Liane Foly's song is just 3,5 Mo.

Edit: I just had a spark, a bulb in my head : Try to copy and paste the link of the video in the converter and it might convert the song whilst ignoring the copyright blockage... At least, if it works, you'll have the mp3 version at once !
