From the 1975 album Face The Music. “Down Home Town” starts with the chorus of Waterfall played backwards. ELO had a good time making fun of the religious right claiming hidden Satanic messages in Rock songs.

Electric Light Orchestra - Down Home Town

Thanks Tsaphah for sharing the original version. The French one is slightly different as you will notice.
Back in the 60's and 70's, many famous singers didn't bother being original and creative and would just make slightly different covers of famous songs from the USA.

When, petite soeœur, When, little sister
    We'll just have to remember.
    I'll be down,
No more, the old dancing music sound.
All day long in my gown,
    When I will be down.

    Quand j'serai K.O., When I'm K.O.
Descendu des plateaux d'phono, Down from the phono's decks
    Poussé en bas Pushed down
Par des plus beaux, des plus forts que moi, By nicer and stronger guys than me
Est-ce que tu m'aimeras encore Will you still love me
Dans cette petite mort ? In this small death ?

Attention : plus personne Caution : Nobody anymore
Porteurs de glace, de chewing gum, Ice-cream and chewing gum sellers
Plus d'belle allure, No looking elegant anymore (play on words with "No good speed anymore")
Chevaux glissant sur la Côte d'Azur. Horses sliding across the Riviera
Quand j'serai pomme, When I'm all at sea
Dans les souv'nirs, les albums, In the memories, the albums
Est-ce que tu laisseras Will you let
Ta main, sur ma joue, posée comme ça ? Your hand, on my cheek, laid like this ?
Est-ce que tu m'aimeras encore Will you still love me
Dans cette petite mort ? In this small death ?

When, petite soeœur, When, little sister
    We'll just have to remember.
    I'll be down,
No more, the old dancing music sound.
All day long in my gown,
    When I will be down.

    Plus d'atoll No more atolls
Pour une déprime qu'a du bol*, For a depression "that has got a bowl"
Plus les folles No more crazy girls
Griffonnant "Je t'aime" sur des bristols. Scribbling "I love you" on bristol papers
Quand j'serai rien When I'm nothing
Qu'un chanteur de salle de bals, More than a local ball singer
Sans clap clap Without clap clap
Sans guitare, sans les batteries qui tapent, Without a guitar, without banging drums
Est-ce que tu m'aimeras encore Will you still love me
Dans cette petite mort ? In this small death ?

    Quand j'serai K.O., When I'm K.O.
Descendu des plateaux d'phono, Down from the phono's decks

    * I don't know what he means here. At times, Souchon's lyrics are a bit abstruse.

C'est déjà ça - Alain Souchon

Je sais bien que, rue d'Belleville, I know very well that, in Belleville street
Rien n'est fait pour moi, I'm nowhere near where I belong
Mais je suis dans une belle ville : But I'm in a nice town
C'est déjà ça. At least, it's already something

Si loin de mes antilopes, So far away from my antelopes
Je marche tout bas. I walk silently
Marcher dans une ville d'Europe, To walk in a town in Europe
C'est déjà ça. At least, it's already something

Oh, oh, oh, et je rêve Oh, oh, oh and I dream
Que l'Soudan, mon pays, soudain, se soulève...That Sudan, my country, suddenly rises
    Oh, oh, Oh, oh,
Rêver, c'est déjà ça, c'est déjà ça. To dream, at least it's already something, already something.

Y'a un sac de plastique vert There's a green plastic bag
Au bout de mon bras. At the end of my arm
Dans mon sac vert, il y a de l'air : In my green bag, there's air.
C'est déjà ça. At least, it's already something

Quand je danse en marchant By the way I walk, I look like dancing
Dans ces djellabas, In those djellabas
Ça fait sourire les passants : It makes the passersby smile
C'est déjà ça. At least, it's already something

Oh, oh, oh, et je rêve Oh, oh, oh and I dream
Que l'Soudan, mon pays, soudain, se soulève...That Sudan, my country, suddenly rises
    Oh, oh, Oh, oh,
Rêver, c'est déjà ça, c'est déjà ça. To dream, at least it's already something, already something.

C'est déjà ça, déjà ça. It's already something, already something.

    Déjà... Already

Pour vouloir la belle musique,For wanting nice music
Soudan, mon Soudan, Sudan, my Sudan
Pour un air démocratique, For a democratic tune,
On s'casse les dents. We beat each other up

Pour vouloir le monde parler, For wanting the people to speak up
Soudan, mon Soudan, Sudan, my Sudan
Celui d'la parole échangée, A world granted with exchanged speech
On t'casse les dents. You get beaten up

Oh, oh, oh, et je rêve Oh, oh, oh and I dream
Que l'Soudan, mon pays, soudain, se soulève...That Sudan, my country, suddenly rises
    Oh, oh, Oh, oh,
Rêver, c'est déjà ça, c'est déjà ça. To dream, at least it's already something, already something.

Je suis assis rue d'Belleville I'm seated in Belleville street
Au milieu d'une foule, In the middle of a crowd
Et là, le temps, hémophile, And there, time, hemophiliac
    Coule. Runs

Oh, oh, oh, et je rêve Oh, oh, oh and I dream
Que l'Soudan, mon pays, soudain, se soulève...That Sudan, my country, suddenly rises
    Oh, oh, Oh, oh,
Rêver, c'est déjà ça, c'est déjà ça. To dream, at least it's already something, already something.

Oh, oh, oh, et je rêve Oh, oh, oh and I dream
Que soudain, mon pays, l'Soudan, se soulève... That suddenly, my country, Sudan rises
    Oh, oh, Oh, oh,
Rêver, c'est déjà ça, c'est déjà ça. To dream, at least it's already something, already something.

    C'est... dé... jà... ça

    L'amour à la machine - Alain Souchon

Passez notre amour à la machine Put our love to the washer
Faites le bouillir Make it boil
Pour voir si les couleurs d'origine To see if the original colors
    Peuvent revenir Can come back
Est-ce qu'on peut ravoir à l'eau de Javel ? Can we get back with bleach ?
    Des sentiments Of the feelings
La blancheur qu'on croyait éternelle The whiteness which we thought eternal
    Avant Before

Pour retrouver le rose initial To get back the initial rose
De ta joue, devenue pâle Of your cheek, now become pale
Le bleu de nos baisers du début The blue of our kisses at the start
Tant d'azur, perdu So much azure wasted

Passez notre amour à la machine Put our love to the washer
Faites le bouillir Make it boil
Pour voir si les couleurs d'origine To see if the original colors
    Peuvent revenir Can come back
Est-ce qu'on peut ravoir à l'eau de Javel ? Can we get back with bleach ?
    Des sentiments Of the feelings
La blancheur qu'on croyait éternelle The whiteness which we thought eternal
    Avant Before

Matisse, l'amour, c'est bleu, difficile Matisse; love, it's blue, difficult
Les caresses, rouges, fragiles The caresses; red, fragile
Le soleil de la vie les tabasse The sun of life beats them up
Et alors, elles passent And then, they fade away

Allez! À la machine!! Come on ! To the washer !

Le rouge pour faire tomber la misère The color red to remove the misery
De nos gentils petits grands-pères From our kind and little granddads
Noires, les mains dans les boucles blondes Black, the hands in the kids' blond curls
Tout autour du monde All around the world

Passez notre amour à la machine Put our love to the washer
Faites le bouillir Make it boil
Pour voir si les couleurs d'origine To see if the original colors
    Peuvent revenir Can come back
Est-ce qu'on peut ravoir à l'eau de Javel ? Can we get back with bleach ?
    Des sentiments Of the feelings
La blancheur qu'on croyait éternelle The whiteness which we thought eternal
    Avant Before

Allez! À la machine!! Come on ! To the washer !

Is it not "a depression that has chance"?When avoir du bol means to be lucky? (Although I don't know how a depression can have chance)

Masters of War by Bob Dylan, covered by RPWL in the style of Pink Floyd.

One of the better covers of this classic song written by Bob Dylan.

It will be 3 years ago on Sept. 10-11, 2014, that this subject came up. ( "New Light" discretely slipped in at the 2014 regional convention: Paradise in heaven ) started by Eden on June 21, 2014.

“So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies. Is it not written in the book of Jashar? And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.” ( Joshua 10:13 NASB )

Today, I had a discussion with a friend who is a theoretical physicist. I mentioned that some people said this account was not true because people would fly off the earth because there would be no gravity to hold them. My answer to them is that the rotation of the earth is not what causes gravity. It is the mass that causes gravity. In my post #35, I give the mass of the earth. So, . . the earth stood still, just as stated in the Bible account.

    Rush-Time Stand Still (Lyrics)

Here’s one I thought of while reading the comments about what we know/don't know.
(How To Handle A JW Who Says The Evil Slave Class Does Not Exist)

There are still many mysteries in the Bible that we don’t know and can’t comprehend, yet.

This song can be equated with the lake of fire mentioned at Rev 19:20, 20:10, 20:14, 20:15

    Jimmy Buffett - Volcano
