Crimson and Clover - Tommy James and The Shondells (With Lyrics)

This is from what was called the psychedelic music period: 1968
They’re from my “neck of the wood” in my younger days.

Dang! Nothing but OLD people!!! The Marmalade name threw me for a bit. I remembered the song but not the name. I searched it and found The Gaylords.

Here’s one of my favorites from way back in the day. I lost this collector’s album and many more, in a fire, back in 1985.

    The Weight - The Band

I pulled into Nazareth, was feelin' about half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
"Hey, mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?"
He just grinned and shook my hand, "no" was all he said

    Take a load off, Fanny
    Take a load for free
    Take a load off, Fanny
And (and) (and) you put the load right on me
(You put the load right on me)

I picked up my bag, I went lookin' for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walkin' side by side
I said, "Hey, Carmen, come on let's go downtown"
She said, "I gotta go but my friend can stick around"

    Take a load off, Fanny
    Take a load for free
    Take a load off, Fanny
And (and) (and) you put the load right on me
(You put the load right on me)

Go down, Miss Moses, there's nothin' you can say
It's just ol' Luke and Luke's waitin' on the Judgment Day
"Well, Luke, my friend, what about young Anna Lee?"
He said, "Do me a favor, son, won't you stay and keep Anna Lee company?"

    Take a load off, Fanny
    Take a load for free
    Take a load off, Fanny
And (and) (and) you put the load right on me
(You put the load right on me)

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said, "I will fix your rack if you'll take Jack, my dog"
I said, "Wait a minute, Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man"
He said, "That's okay, boy, won't you feed him when you can"

Yeah, take a load off, Fanny
    Take a load for free
    Take a load off, Fanny
And (and) (and) you put the load right on me
(You put the load right on me)

Catch a cannon ball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinkin' low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here with her regards for everyone

    Take a load off, Fanny
    Take a load for free
    Take a load off, Fanny
And (and) (and) you put the load right on me
(You put the load right on me)

*the original song fades out for about 15 seconds. Here is an explanation of the song.

One of the most creative and talented music groups ever: Pink Floyd. Named after two blues artists: Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. Influential and Active for 57 years. Here’s one song that I continually mentioned to my young bands, in their early formation days.
Don't believe a word the record companies tell you about the contract.

Yes, The Times They Are A-Changing. one of my favorite songs by Bob Dylan.
Another song of Bob's is: The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll.

"The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll" is a topical song written by the American musician Bob Dylan. Recorded on October 23, 1963, the song was released on Dylan's 1964 album, The Times They Are A-Changin' and gives a generally factual account of the killing of a 51-year-old African-American barmaid, Hattie Carroll, by the 24-year-old William Devereux "Billy" Zantzinger (February 7, 1939 – January 3, 2009), a young man from a wealthy white tobacco farming family in Charles County, Maryland, and of his subsequent sentence to six months in a county jail, after being convicted of assault.
The lyrics are a commentary on 1960s racism. When Carroll was killed in 1963, Charles County was still strictly segregated by race in public facilities such as restaurants, churches, theaters, doctor's offices, buses and the county fair. The schools of Charles County were not integrated until 1967.

As you can probably tell; I’m all over the map with types of music that I like. As a very young child, I was exposed to Country-Western, Jazz, Swing, Blues, Folk, Classical, Opera, etc. I worked a side job for Bill Graham Presents from 1981 to 1991. Bill was killed on the night of October 25, 1991 in a helicopter crash, on his way home from a concert he promoted near Vallejo, California. The helicopter entered a low fog bank and hit a 223-foot (68-meter) electric transmission tower. I quit two weeks later.

I watched a commercial, last night, about a polar bear with two cubs. It was about protecting them.
Due to global warming, their habitat is being destroyed. They have no way to go to their natural grounds.
Needless to say; I cried. I was in the remote arctic for 18 months. I experienced the polar bears, foxes, caribou, walrus, seals, all types of birds. Now, because of man, they are slowly being destroyed.
Jehovah said: "And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand." ( Gen 9:2 NKJV )
