Worshiping Jesus, The Mighty God. how will that work?

During the Thousand year reign of Christ Kingdom, When he will indeed rule as a God King over all of Jehovah's works. How difficult would that be for the average JW?
Even as much as I have studied the scriptures on this subject, I still find it very difficult to rap my brain around.
The way in which Im currently understanding this is

**....Jehovah will completely step back and allow Jesus Christ to rule.**

** All prayers, will Go to him (Jesus).**

** No more praying to Jehovah for that time period.....**

I cant get my brain around it.

Then...once we have gotten in the habbit of praying to Jesus Christ- The Mighty God for a thousand years.....Jesus then hands the Kingdom back to Jehovah (who had remained silent during that time?) Jesus will also subject himself back to Jehovah his God and Father, at that point, Jehovah then becomes everything to everyone then all those living will once again start directing their prayers to him.

Thats pretty much how it works, right? Is anyone else other than me having a hard time wrapping their brain around this?

Where did you got the idea that people will pray to Jesus? The anointed will be able to speak with Jesus directly as did the people when Jesus was on earth. But when Jesus is not physically present, he taught people to pray to Jehovah God, his Father.

Scriptures speak of every knee in heaven and on earth bending in worship and honor to Jesus. During the thousand years when he rules as a God King. it is my understanding that he will take full control of earths affairs. Are you telling me that we will not be praying to him during the thousands year rule until he hands the kingdom back to his father?

Yes ! Christ's brothers will be able to speak directly with Jehovah too. Sin is what alienates humans from God, which is why they are mortal and "submitted to futility", as Paul said (see too Eph. 2:1). They are not God's children anymore, in the fullest sense of the term, I mean. However, God's new creation, as foretold and explained by Paul, will enable that reconciliation; at first for Christ's brothers and 1 000 years later for the rest of mankind.

(Revelation 22:3-5) . . .And there will no longer be any curse. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his slaves will offer him sacred service; and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. Also, night will be no more, and they have no need of lamplight or sunlight, for Jehovah God will shed light upon them, and they will rule as kings forever and ever.

(2 Corinthians 5:18-21) . . .But all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of the reconciliation, namely, that God was by means of Christ reconciling a world to himself, not counting their offenses against them, and he entrusted to us the message of the reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors substituting for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us. As substitutes for Christ, we beg: “Become reconciled to God.â€￾ The one who did not know sin, he made to be sin for us, so that by means of him we might become God’s righteousness.

You know, Jesus mission is to reconcile humankind with Jehovah God the Father. Jesus is the mediator between God and humans. Jesus is the way to God.
So you should look at Jesus from this perspective. Your goal should be to come to Jehovah God the Father. And to become Jehovah's child.
That's what's Jesus' ministry is about. To elevate us to the point when we can be accepted by Jehovah God as his children.

Jesus prayed to his Father while he was here; actually was communicating to him probably constantly...as he said everything he spoke on earth/at least teaching wise; he was receiving from the Father. That is what being 'one' with his Father meant for him...and I believe we, too, can do the same. Constant prayer/communication /with Father...and once we get over the initial shock ...that is...that we can talk to Christ our Lord, too, if we so desire....that we can succeed in getting the 'mind', and 'spirit' of Christ.

Yes, Gabriel, Father is turning over much, if not all, the groundwork to his son, the scriptures repeatedly reveal to us. Look at the 'vine' illustration...in John 15, for instance.

But unlike the falsehood in churches; Jehovah our Father is the goal from Christ; not he alone. He is to be a big brother to us more than anything. I find that extremely comforting. Big brothers do get tough at times when they catch their lil' brother sinning, for instance....so I sometimes shy away from thinking about Jesus being inside my sinful mind somehow.(shame)

This is another reason we must be born into this spiritual close relationship; getting the sin out of our hearts; something all of us need to work on. Paul knew the shame, quite well. He hated himself, and his weaknesss...although we here probably will never do all the amazing things he did...and his sufferings. But when we know our hearts and minds are under close scrutiny from above, we should change more readily.

The spiritual war is naked and openly exposed to Jehovah and Christ...they know our hearts and thouhts. But that must not deter us! They also see our hearts beat for them and goodness, and we wish to be with other worshipers of our Father too, and we wish for Satan and this evil world to disappear. So, we more than balance the scales in favor of God, so he sends his spirit and Jesus sends his when we become close to them.

Some people talk to Christ daily, along with Jehovah God. And many escaped JW's are able to hear God and Christ talk to them in their minds. I have on numerous occasions, myself. My wife. too. That requires faith to realize, along with deep prayer, and QUIET...so you can perceive what their spirit is saying.

I remember a couple years ago, a sweet sister from England knew I was having trouble talking to Christ, because I felt reticence over a course of action I was taking, and not quite sure I was doing right...although I had prayed for months about it.

    This sister felt compelled by the spirit and e-mailed me;

"John....the Lord said to me, ' tell John to come talk to me'.

I knew from years of discussions with her on forums and e-mails, she was one with the new understanding, although she hadn't the heavenly hope, as I had. She was tight with Father, and his son...and loyally fighting for her family;attending the Hall all along, because she had an elder husband she loved dearly, and children who were zealous pioneers....and they would be shocked if they knew what she really believed....

Anyway, I was amazed she knew about my desire to 'set things right' with my Lord...who I respect and admire greatly, but still have yet to love as deeply as our Father...and speak to as much AS I WANT TO.

So......after I chewed on this a day....I went down to our little pond in the woods, and baired my soul to the Father, and asked to speak to his son. And I did, for quite a while. This did help me, because I felt a huge calm in my spirit. It was a relief that he wanted to communicate with me, too. But...he expects us to be reserved about speaking to him, as he ....like a fine son...wants Father to get the glory. He is quite humble. He knows we have a lot to learn yet.

But then again, he is our King. And he is to be viewed as the Son of God...yes, a god, too. But all his worship and praise goes to his Father. So....I sincerely hope we all begin to see in eternity the real value and respect Father Jah wants us to have for his Son,....as we all were made especially for Christ and by him, as John 1 says.

This new revelation to us Witnesses brings me only joy, as we are all here learning new and wonderful truths about Christ, the Kingdom, and Father Jah's will. It is exciting , and assuring we are all being taught by the spirit now....and we are in the 'fast lane'.

Let's push the pedal to the metal, I say....(but carefully)...not too much -too soon.

(from John 17:20-26...please read in other translations, too)

John S, Jesus learned people to pray to God Jehovah the Father and said the last night to his apostles that from then on they should pray to the Father not forgetting to do it in Jesus' name.
So that's the scriptural basis. I have not seen any mentioning about the need to speak to Jesus in prayer in the New Testament.
But of course in the first century it happened that Jesus spoke to Saul, apostle Paul after Jesus' ascension to heaven.
But mostly it was "the helper" that would "lead them to all the truth".

    Am I not right John S ?

With all do respect, I know a few who claim direct communication with the spiritual realm. Now the first question should be, why Jehovah would need to speak to them? Would it be something that's not written in scripture? I happen to believe Jehovah put into that book everything we need to know and understand what he wishes us too. He didn't forget to add anything.

Second, why wouldn't Christ just have spoke to you? Why would he speak to someone else and then have them speak to you?

Do you have any idea how easy it is to fool our minds? Just a passing thought could be thought straight from God. We have our own voice in our heads, our minds are designed to see structure where there really isn't, such as shapes in clouds.

The next question, can it be found in scripture that God would speak to mankind in our day in their minds? Are you going to except a statement from a human that they have a message from God to you if it can't be found in the Bible? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is? What if Christ is looking at you wishing you didn't have this understanding, but looks over it because he loves you? What if he doesn't overlook it? Which way should you lean to be safe?

Now, do you not know Satan keeps presenting himself as an angel of light? Who is to say even if she was given a heavenly message that it was not Satan himself attempting to get you away from the truth that much further?

I am on my cell phone at the meeting or I would be quoting scripture, but I will add, please give us precedence in scripture that we can speak to Christ in prayer before he is enthroned.

As Utuna said, I am from the show me state, and unless it's there you are deceiving yourself.

Edit: I talk with/to my computer everyday.... Flash Player is the Devil... Very often, I'm typing interesting biblical thoughts for almost one hour or more when all of a sudden, Firefox starts bugging because of Flash Player.... and I must start it all over again.... :p (I'm kidding, about Flash Player being the Devil, just in case....)

  12. Hi Utuna:

I have to re-download flash player all the time. It will run well for varied amounts of time from a couple hours to a week or two, then it's slow as hell and slows down even scrolling on my computer.
Then I have to go to the adobe.com site and re-download it again and it is fine, for a while. repeat

jesus gave us a perfect example he prayed to jehovah and got answered.

I can't believe their are people who actually asked why would god talk back?

that's most disconcerting if you pray and god or jesus doesn't answer you in some way by the holy spirit directing your thoughts to the written word or by sending some brothers to confirm the word or answer your prayer.

just what are you serving jehovah for? a future hope?

I'm going to tell you a little truth and you can take it or leave it.

how much or how little you hear from jehovah is mostly up to you!

if you put little or no effort into prayer reading the bible and taking notes.

you aren't going to get gods attention very much!

but friend if you go all out trying to get Jehovah's attentions by obeisance to him and jesus by proper worship as jesus Christ outlined..

then you are going to hear from jehovah. period end of story...

JIG, from someone with experience in this matter as yourself, please tell me what kind of things he has told you. With all do respect I would like to know some of the conversations. After all if God has spoke again in the last 2000 years it would be of such importance that it's beyond even my own understanding.

So please share with us some of these words from God.

I don't hold vocal conversations with god or jesus. I pray and I get inspired by the holy spirit to read the bible and what I read always seems to be the perfect answer.

I ask things and pray and get answers from Christian people who say god laid this on my heart.

and I pray and the holy spirit directs my thinking to do what it is I am seeking from god silently not words but thoughts.

its always someway to carry out ministry by making me remember were it is in the bible or a publication from the watchtower library..

and since I stay focused all day on doing what would Jesus do?

their just is no way to give any striking example. its all about jehovah show me what to do what to say what to think!

their was only one time I heard god talk to me and it was not much but it was enough.

in jail years ago some prisoners were cursing god with f god.

and I said in my mind god don't ever let me be like that!

and strong and clear a voice in my mind that was unmistakable

    said. son you already are!

that was the one and only time jehovah talked to me direct.

my response was yes lord I am tell me what to do. next what had to be the inspiration of gods spirit put the thought into my mind to get up and write a letter to the sherrif admitting my addiction and buying dope and asking for help.

what followed was 30 years of recovery.

I have come to know from experience that the inspiration given to me by god is for my benefit to direct me in using his written word and seeing my prayer answered through people.

I also don't talk about god said this or that because people might take it to mean vocal kind of talking. which is a thing for the prophets of old.

and I'm not the governing body!

I don't tell people this is what Jehovah's or jesus will.

but I will tell you to pray your own self.

I hope I'm making Christian sense to you in this matter .

I would encourage you to approach jehovah in prayer and ask him to give you his guidance in having a closer walk with him.

not inferring in anyway that your lacking.

we all need to draw closer to Jehovah. well I'm done yapping.

    Hi JIG :)

This is the best "yapping" you've ever done! Thank you for this post. Now I understand you better.

May Jehovah continue to bless the relationship you have with him.

I agree with you too but it depends on what you mean by "you are going to hear from Jehovah". We've all been on this forum or on different forums all along the last past years and we have in consequence seen a slew of fruitcakes claiming to be anointed, seeing angels, prophesying stuff and, above all, talking mainly nonsense. Maybe that that's in the US culture to hear voices, to make small talk with God, etc. and to be proud of it (cf. G.W. Bush), but on my side of the pool, if the President uttered such unbelievable hooey, he'd be a laughingstock till his last sigh. It's a mental illness and it can be treated. I respect very much those who suffer from such illnesses and they deserve dignity, not scorn ever, but when I read here or there that someone has discussions with God... that makes me laugh out loud ! and above all when I see that some other guys believe them...
