I confirm. That has been the main topic of discussions here in the KHs in the past few days.

Thanks for the link to the video. I didn't know about it.

Is it like an internet cafe and do you pay to use the pc's? I know a brother who would love this service, he cant afford a pc or landline and would love to do bible research on the internet. Very interesting must be expensive to run with rent and rates etc.

    Dunno yet...

Details are being disclosed little by little. There may be a letter about it that will be read during a meeting in the weeks to come.

It'd be funny if someone could get there on the computers in the shop and create shortcuts or bookmarks to this board or to Robert's website... lol

Hey your nearer to that shop than me lol..have you looked at the comments, somebodies already complaining that it's not fair that the French pioneers will be able to work inside the shop in the winter, and also during the hot summer days when they more than likely have air con:p

I had wondered why since the early "org" was using every
tactic available even radio shows that they were so lax
about pursuing that since the donations were more than
enough to generate income supporting other venues of
teaching the bible ...but was not surprised when some
"enterprising" students had undertaken to make a profit
    themselves with the likes of

Madzay actually admit to being a family run J.W business, it's like a Catholic selling holy water at Lourdes. It doesn't sit right with me, even if they do put a small percentage in the box.

    Thank you for sharing that.

Normandy is like England... 400 days of rain per year... :p

Spring : Cool rain all day long, sleet at times for a change
Summer : Warm drizzle all day long
Autumn : Lukewarm rain all day long
Winter : Cold rain all day long, snow at times for a change

There's no need of air con in Normandy. However, an umbrella is indispensable all year long !

Jokes aside, regarding the local pioneers, they may stay there from time to time but as the French branch is not so far away from Rouen, maybe that mainly hand-picked members of the French branch will end up there. That's a sensitive place, they won't send "John Does" over there, which is understandable after all.

Interestingly, the shop is there for a six months try-out period, renewable in case of success.

hmmm I would like to see a non denominational store that had kingdom literature,as well as some of the other great bible litterature from other sources,,example the new amplified bible is great, the matthew henry comentary, the lexicons, etc and as to makeing a profit. yes it is perfectly fine to make a bussiness of profit selling bible material.some people eroniously think that you are supposed to give out bibles at cost and are not to make any profit... freinds we are talking apples and oranges on that.. in your ministry you take donations. your work awaits future payment from jesus and you can expect future payment from him.
in a bible litterature store you buy and sell books period for profit, you sell covers, and markers, and you expect a monetary reward. nothing wrong with that..

England is becoming like Normandy without the warm drizzle, it's cloudy, grey, damp and miserable:(
No you couldn't have just any Joe Blogs more than likely long standing Bethelites who are fully equipped with untold bible knowledge:)

Talking about making a profit..I was told how clothes which are donated to the London Bethel, those that are not used are then sold onto a brother who then sells it at car boot sales and markets etc. How about sending it out to the poor brothers and sisters who can't even afford electricity hence the reason we no longer have the home group study meetings:rolleyes:

If the idea picks up, the next urban Kingdom Halls will all have a store front like that. Which, actually, would make sense. Most of the KH sit there idle outside the meetings hours or Elders meetings or JC's.
