Here is another song for “My Lady”; soon to be 6 decades.

The song was written by Lionel Richie. He requested Kenny Rogers to record it.

This song is rather a sad state of humanity. The writer and artist, Joe Henry, is married to Madonna's sister.

    This is Me . . .

"Still Crazy After All These Years"

    I met my old lover
    On the street last night
She seemed so glad to see me
    I just smiled
And we talked about some old times
And we drank ourselves some beers
Still crazy after all these years
Still crazy after all these years

I'm not the kind of man
    Who tends to socialize
    I seem to lean on
    Old familiar ways
And I ain't no fool for love songs
    That whisper in my ears
Still crazy after all these years
Still crazy after all these years

    Four in the morning
    Crapped out
    Yawning
    Longing my life away
    I'll never worry
    Why should I?
    It's all gonna fade

Now I sit by my window
    And I watch the cars
I fear I'll do some damage
    One fine day
But I would not be convicted
By a jury of my peers
Still crazy after all these years
    Still crazy
    Still crazy
Still crazy after all these years
    :D

    "The Last Resort"

    She came from Providence
    One in Rhode Island
Where the old world shadows hang
    Heavy in the air
She packed her hopes and dreams
    Like a refugee
    Just as her father came
    Across the sea

    She heard about a place
    People were smilin'
They spoke about the red man's way
    How they loved the land
    They came from everywhere
    To the Great Divide
    Seeking a place to stand
    Or a place to hide

    Down in the crowded bars
    Out for a good time
Can't wait to tell you all
    What it's like up there
    They called it paradise
    I don't know why
    Somebody laid the mountains low
    While the town got high

Then the chilly winds blew down
    Across the desert
Through the canyons of the coast
    To the Malibu
    Where the pretty people play
    Hungry for power
    To light their neon way
    Give them things to do

Some rich men came and raped the land
    Nobody caught 'em
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes
    And Jesus people bought 'em
    They called it paradise
    The place to be
    They watched the hazy sun
    Sinking in the sea

We can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina
Just like the missionaries did so many years ago
They even brought a neon sign said, "Jesus is coming."

Brought the white man's burden down
    Brought the white man's reign
    Jesus_Coming.tiff
Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier
We have got to make it here

    We satisfy our endless needs
    And justify our bloody deeds
    In the name of destiny
And in the name of God

And you can see them there
    On Sunday morning
They stand up and sing about
    What it's like up there
    They call it paradise
    I don't know why
    You call someplace paradise
    Kiss it goodbye

The word is Hineni, which means “Here I am!” But you’ve got to watch out how you say it, because it is a way of expressing total readiness to give oneself - it’s an offer of total availability. When God called out to Moses from the burning bush, Moses replied, ‘Hineni!’ This term is also used by Isaiah. It comes from the Hebrew word: Hinneh, which also means ‘Behold’.

    You Want It Darker

If you are the dealer, I’m out of the game
If you are the healer, it means I’m broken and lame
If thine is the glory then mine must be the shame
    You want it darker
    We kill the flame

Magnified, sanctified, be thy holy name
Vilified, crucified, in the human frame
A million candles burning for the help that never came
    You want it darker

    Hineni, hineni
    I’m ready, my lord

There’s a lover in the story
But the story’s still the same
    There’s a lullaby for suffering
    And a paradox to blame
But it’s written in the scriptures
And it’s not some idle claim
    You want it darker
    We kill the flame

    They’re lining up the prisoners
And the guards are taking aim
    I struggled with some demons
They were middle class and tame
I didn’t know I had permission to murder and to maim
    You want it darker

    Hineni, hineni
    I’m ready, my lord

Magnified, sanctified, be thy holy name
Vilified, crucified, in the human frame
A million candles burning for the love that never came
    You want it darker
    We kill the flame

If you are the dealer, let me out of the game
If you are the healer, I’m broken and lame
If thine is the glory, mine must be the shame
    You want it darker

    Hineni, hineni
    Hineni, hineni
    I’m ready, my lord

    Hineni
    Hineni, hineni
    Hineni

Here is one of my favorites. It says a lot about relationships of fathers and sons.
I never experienced it because I never knew my father.

Father and Son - Cat Stevens [lyrics]
