    Miracle after Car Breakdown

    Postby John S » Thu Sep 15, 2016 1:37 pm

I have to relate my recent experiences of the last 7 days. I just must share the miracles Father saved me with.

I was driving home from MS to NC last Friday night. I had been on the interstates in high speed traffic all day and until late at night driving in 4-5 lanes sometimes, 70-80 mph much of the time; surrounded by dangerous semi-trucks, red necks in jacked up 4wd, and sports-car racers. But it was only about 40 miles from my home, I had just got off the 4 lane interstates about 30 minutes before when the car suddenly just turned off going about 55.....total dead, dash lights all lit up red!

So, I have a feeling I know what it is already, having quite a bit of bad luck with cars all my life;.... timing belt. Not gonna fix that one with a crescent wrench and your flashlight, oh no.

So I get my travel bag, phone, and wallet,...through my new chainsaw under a bush to hide it from car-robbers, and start walking 40 miles. "Here we go, Father! What can you do this time for me?"...I prayed out loud (as I always do when alone and in trouble, I think he'll hear me better.(ha)

It was probably the third car that came by when I stuck out my thumb hitch-hiking, who stopped. And remember its 11:00 0n Friday night...no one will probably pick me up, but this young couple in a mini Toyota did, and they were so nice and drove me 26 miles to a town where I insisted they stop and let me out so I get thumb a ride North and let them go back to their campground. THANK YOU LORD! and you young angels I told them.

Well, I walked across the little town, and was getting right into the mountains and the two-lane part for the next 13 miles to home...and it was pitch black out;no moon. I did have a good flashlight, though, to signal I was on the road as people drive these mountain roads at race speeds for fun night and day. No sidewalks here; no place to walk but on the road, so I prayed to Father. Finally, my wife woke up, and our spotty cellular service got through just as I was to enter no-cell territory. I find that also miraculous. Was I ever relieved to get home as she picked me up 30 minutes later. She didn't even know I was driving up...and she was mad!

Anyway, it did turn out I found a tow company that towed me in the morning (175...not bad). I ordered the belts, and put them all in yesterday...and on a Mitsubishi Eclipse;1993, that is a chore! But with a manual, internet advice, and Holy Spirit, I gotter done. Then I started the car. Clattered like a Mason jar half-filled with marbles! Oh no! Must be bent valves the internet said...I shut the motor off and went inside to clean up and drink a beer or two to try to forget now I'm stuck with no car. You all know that feeling. Merrilybeth my wife tried to comfort me; "Just go get the parts kit; valves, gaskets, and fix it yourself. Even if I could get the head off this old car without breaking rusty headbolts, hoses, clips, or any one of technical glitches new to me, it will still cost 100's of bucks just for the head repair, and a week or so lost time.

But, whatdoya do? Well, I prayed again; "Father, I REALLY needed that car fixed, I'm in a bad way here!"

I got up this morning, had my tea, sat at the pc and checked JW sites, then got up, went out, and started finishing up the car wrenches, tightening hoses, leaks, etc....all things you do after car surgery. My wife was sitting on the front porch doing her morning BStudy, ....so I thought; "I'll start the car and let her hear it..."

When I started the car, a slight tapping was all there was, kinda normal....then after revving the engine a few times, the car quieted down to normal like it was saying, "Its just another day, Boss...where to?"

I couldn't believe it? What? What about the clattering sound from yesterday?

Anyway, I drove it down the road a ways, and got it up to 55, and no problemo! We are good to go.

"Thank you, than you, Father. You must have sent an angel to work on it overnight, as that car's valves were surely bent, I thought!" A very pleasant surprise; I was dumbfounded, and in a daze. Yes, it is fixed!

Sometimes the night before things look sooooo bad when one is in a jam. Best to put everything away, try to forget about it, go get a good night's sleep and try again the next day; praying for Father to point you to the right path tomorrow.

This has been a rough week for me, and I'm glad its over. I'm also glad that timing belt did not break while I was surrounded by cars doing 75 mph. I'm sure He had a hand in that one too.

May father and Son watch over us all as we thread our way through Hell and high waters of this old world.

    Hi John

I'm glad that didn't happen on the interstate highway, too. Glad to hear that you are ok now.

    Thank you, sister,

"The angel of Jehovah....." Ps. 34 :7

I believe we all have angelic experiences many times as Father holds each one of us dear, as he did his firstborn. (Matt. 4:11)

Eyes of faith can see things though unbelievers only scoff . My wife and eye still are in amazement over all the developments. Went back to work today; had clients waiting with money in hand....

"I needed that car fixed, Father...." ...."So you do...and so it shall become."
