Was having a discussion on another forum, when I was alerted to the fact that the anointed are my mediators :(
But mediators to who? Jesus or Jehovah? and if this is the case where is the scriptural evidence to back this claim up. Every time I think I can rest and there's nothing else, something else comes out of the blue. How comes I'm having a bible study and this has never been brought up?

Moses was the mediator of the Law between God and the Israel of old. Jesus is the mediator of the New Covenant between God and the spiritual Israel, that is the anointed (Ex4:22).

Furthermore, at times, people mix up the words "mediator" and "intercessor" :

(Romans 8:34) Who is he that will condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died, yes, rather the one who was raised up from the dead, who is on the right hand of God, who also pleads for us.

(Hebrews 7:25) Consequently he is able also to save completely those who are approaching God through him, because he is always alive to plead for them.

Jesus, being the High Priest, intercedes for all humans. Once the 144 000 are in heaven, they won't need his intercession anymore because they'll have direct access to God.

But, if the 144 000 are to be kings and above all priests...:

    *** it-2 p. 682 Priest ***
Among true worshipers of Jehovah before the formation of the Christian congregation, priests officially represented God to the people they served, instructing them about God and his laws. In turn, they represented the people before God, offering sacrifices as well as interceding and pleading for the people. Hebrews 5:1 explains: "Every high priest taken from among men is appointed in behalf of men over the things pertaining to God, that he may offer gifts and sacrifices for sins." The Hebrew term translated "priest" is ko'·hen′; the Greek, hi'·e'·reus′.

Once mankind is brough back to its original condition and the humans have direct access to God like Adam did, there won't be any need of a temple and priests anymore (Rv21:22).

first the whole idea of the anointed today is a falsehood.. no one is anointed and 1 of the 144000 until they die and are resurrected.

the proper term is those invited! and many more than 144000 are invited but Jesus will choose 140000 after the invited die.

Phil 3/12.13. gives us a good example Paul tells us that he does not claim to have attained that position yet but he has heard the call and is responding ! forgetting the things behind him he is hurrying toward the goal of the heavenly calling to be with Jesus..

now if Paul was not yet to that heavenly calling but working to receive it... then certainly no one today can say I'm anointed.

the whole idea of the chosen is to give us leadership by showing us an example! now. and after the first resurrection they will serve as mayors governors (princes) of Jesus. they however are not today middle men between us and Jesus or Jehovah..

    Hi all,

It seems that the concensus here is that there is only one mediator between us and Jehovah and that is His only begotten Son Jesus.

The anointed are ones that are called and sealed and anointed to be Jesus brothers. While in the flesh they are no different than anyone else.

    Paul definitely said:

    Romans 8:
22 For we know that all creation keeps on groaning together and being in pain together until now. 23 Not only that, but we ourselves also who have the firstfruits, namely, the spirit, yes, we ourselves groan within ourselves, while we are earnestly waiting for adoption as sons, the release from our bodies by ransom. 24 For we were saved in [this] hope; but hope that is seen is not hope, for when a man sees a thing, does he hope for it? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we keep on waiting for it with endurance.

For any anointed one to say that they have already recieved this wonderful hope that has been bestowed upon them is presumptuous indeed. There were many in the first century who believed that they had already recieved the hope and they were ruling as kings.

Paul set them straight and showed that they were not speaking truth - they were superfine apostles that were jumping the gun.

It is only after that Jesus returns and gathers his chosen ones and changes them into the new creation that they will truly then be able to work the works of a one that is cleansed and made into a incorruptible and immortal new creation being that is suitable for the task.

Until this happens all those claiming that they have recieved the hope and that we should look to them as leaders are indeed false prophets and the voice of a stranger - the true anointed believe and see this and realize that it is only thru tribulation and trials and being faithful to the word of truth that we will be made into what Jehovah thru Jesus has determined.

There are true anointed ones amoung us - But only Jehovah knows who they are - These ones turn attention to Jehovah and His Son Jesus and their living words of truth and not to themselves because they know that it is only because of undeserved kindness that Jehovah has anointed them while they are still in their sins.

These thoughts are completely contained in scripture.

    Have a blessed day.

    Joe

I am surprised that no one has used this scripture. "For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time." (1 Tim. 2:5-6 NIV) This word which we translate into English is mesites in Greek. It has the meaning of: one who intervenes between two, either in order to make or restore peace and friendship, or form a compact, or for ratifying a covenant.

Also look at these scriptures. (Ga. 3:19-20), (Heb. 8:6, 9:15, 12:24) Read it in context, not just the ones shown.

As jehovahisgod pointed out. the others have not been sealed yet. Anyone making a claim of being a mediator is wearing sheep's clothing. Run away, run away!

"But he who guarantees that YOU and we belong to Christ and he who has anointed us is God. He has also put his seal upon us and has given us the token of what is to come, that is, the spirit, in our hearts." - 2 Cor. 1:21-22

"In proportion as each one has received a gift, use it in ministering to one another as fine stewards of God's undeserved kindness expressed in various ways." - 1 Pe 4:10

"But the manifestation of the spirit is given to each one for a beneficial purpose." - 1 Cor. 12:7

In ancient Israel, future kings and priests were anointed with olive oil, which was a type for the holy spirit. It didn't necessarily mean that they were reigning right away. To be anointed doesn't mean to have received the reward yet. Please compare what's in red above with what's in red below :

    ANOINT

Anointing was not treated as a light matter: as a matter of fact there was a law prescribing the making of special anointing oil by authorized personnel in a specified way (Ex 30:22). See OIL , ANOINTING . One who would dare to make the oil illegally and anoint an outsider "shall be cut off from his people" (v. 33). Such precaution was no doubt initiated because the anointing oil was a symbol of the Lord's appointment and consecration for office (1 Sam 10:1,9; Isa 61:1; Zech 4:11-14; Acts 10:38). Anointing, then, was viewed as God's act and as the outpouring of the Spirit to equip for service.

    ANOINT

The sacred use of oil was for consecrating things or persons to God. So Jacob anointed for a pillar the stone which had been his pillow at Bethel (Gen 28:18). The oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and as applied to things gave them a ceremonial sacredness, fitting them for holy ministrations. As applied to prophets (1 Chron 16:22; 1 Kings 19:16), priests (Lev 4:3), and kings (Isa 45:1), it marked their consecration to the office, and was a symbol of the spiritual qualification divinely imparted for its due discharge (Ex 30:29-30). 1 Sam 10:1,6: King Saul. 1 Sam 16:13-14: David thrice anointed: first to the right; then over Judah; then actually over the whole nation. Isa 61:1: Messiah, twice so designated in the Old Testament (Ps 2:2; Dan 9:25-26), at once Prophet, Priest, and King, the Center of all prophecy, the Antitype of all priesthood, and the Source and End of all kingship (Luke 4:18; Acts 4:27; 10:38). He was anointed with the Holy Spirit from the womb, then at His baptism (John 1:32-33,41). Hereby the New Testament marks Him as the Messiah of the Old Testament (Acts 9:22; 17:2-3; 18:5,28.) What He is His people are, Messiahs or "anointed ones" by union with Him (Zech 4:14), having the unction of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 1:21; 1 John 2:20). Though priests in general were at first anointed, afterward anointing was restricted to the high priest, called "the priest that is anointed:" the perfume used was of stacte, onycha, and galbanum, with pure frankincense, and it was death to imitate it. Antitypically, to Christ, the true high priest alone, belongs the fullness of the Spirit, which it is blasphemy to arrogate. "The Lord's anointed" was the ordinary phrase for the theocratic king (1 Sam 12:3; Lam 4:20).

I totally agree with the bible! no were in the bible does anybody become self anointed somebody always performs the oil! in the case of taking the elements .I do not think Jesus ever ment for that to be
a yearly show of who believes they
are going to be our leaders in the new world.

I also don't think so because Jesus who is the son of god would not have created an event that anybody who wanted to be noticed as gods special person could just eat and drink the elements and bam now your anointed and everyone holds you special.

As usual, he mixes up faith in Jesus' sacrifice with the NC.

"Moreover, that by law no one is declared righteous with God is evident, because "the righteous one will live by reason of faith."" - Gal. 3:11

  17. Hi All:

This is incorrect and he has no understanding of covenants in the Bible. Everyone is in a covenant with God, or will be at one point, but only the 144,000 members of Jesus Bride are members of the first new covenant. That's why there are supposed to be more than one loaf and cup at the Lord's Evening Meal. Each loaf and each cup represents a different covenant arrangement with different members partaking, depending on which body (loaf) you belong to and whose blood (wine) atones for that particular covenant. The Governing Body of the Watchtower knows this but refuse to observe the Memorial in a truthful way. They will though, when they are forced by Holy Spirit to do so.

you know in reading about early Christians it seems that one of the customs was to break bread and wine in respect of Jesus Christ.

their is no mention anywere that I can find of being anointed first beforehand! none. but it seems the practice of breaking bread and wine was done with any new convert and not limited to once a year..

the super scary catholic holiday of trans substantiation. which is like a demonic mass with christian paint

came latter.it was softened to communion with a wheat waffer and grape juice.

the kingdom hall memorial comes from the land of oz it has no bible basis in any gospel about the general congregations passing the elements around and only a few dareing to eat..

their is ample evidence however in the gospel about people coming to the last super meal just because they were hungry!

we can easily see that those hungry people did not come for one bite of bread and a sip of wine!

not at all! they came for the roast lamb the greens and all the goodies!

so much so that the apostles had to warn people they should not come just for hunger because this was a
    symbol of disearning Christ!
