Trump's victory in the recent elections rekindles the wish for many Californians to secede from the rest of the USA.

I've seen that as well, but as an American- how exactly would they do this?! They'd be hard pressed to remove themselves from all federal support and create their own means of governance. Plus they'd have a bunch of stupid people trying to move there just to get away from what they think is so wrong, and that would add to the chaos.

There are also many people claiming they'll move to Canada. Some Canadians have responded with quite a bit of snubbery, citing that the process to become a Canadian citizen is way more grueling than it is to become an American citizen. Which I've witnessed myself as my sister was there on a one year work visa and learned that it would be mighty difficult to lawfully stay there any longer.

Trump is the same as any other president. As I recently heard it, "Different puppet, same puppeteer." If he doesn't get assassinated before he talks office, I am sure everyone will see that not much will truly change and go about their business...
