Defining "The Many" (Harabim)

In the Hebrew text of Daniel, the term harabim (D'ann) is not just a vague reference to "a large crowd." In the context of the book of Daniel and the wider prophetic corpus, it is a technical term for the covenant community of Israel.

Textual Evidence: In Daniel 11:33 and 12:3, the "many" are explicitly those who understand the law and turn others to righteousness-the faithful remnant of Israel.

The Theological Implication: By reading "the many" as the covenantal Jewish people, the text of Daniel 9:27 creates a rigid, limited boundary: the covenantal confirmation is focused strictly on the house of Israel. This aligns perfectly with the Gospel accounts, where Jesus' earthly ministry is explicitly bounded: "/ was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israe/" (Matthew 15:24).
