Like you say, If everybody else can be wrong," why can't you be wrong? How do you know the feeling you say you have of being one of the 144,000 is not just your own feeling? There is nothing in the scrolls that says humans will know who is, or is not of the 144,000. That whole thing is a Watch Tower teaching..."Only 144,000 will go to heaven." That is not true. God has taken others to heaven. The number 144,000 is a perfect number. it does not mean what the Watch Tower says it means.
Jehovah did not say, "Read the scriptures." He said, "Reason on the scriptures." The difference between reading, and reasoning is like night, and day. Anybody can read scripture. They would have to reason on it to get an understanding. Jehovah said he would blind the eye of the un-believer...he would not let them be able to reason what is written. Without Jehovah's help, we cannot understand scriptures.

I am wrong all the time, but I know when to except that and to adjust my thinking. As well I have no problem admitting publicly when I am wrong.

So you say let the scripture speak to you in the heart, to get it's meaning, that you should read the scripture then the spirit will give you it's meaning in your heart, instead of dissecting the exact words and their association to every other word in scripture to determine exactly what the Bible writer meant when he wrote that scripture?

If you have a problem admitting you are wrong, that is something you need to fix.

I don't care what the writers of scripture think they may have, or did not mean what they wrote. Many did not even know what the meaning of what they wrote was?. Daniel asked God after he wrote what God wanted him to write, "What does this mean?" Jehovah told him, "It is sealed up until the time of the end." I sure Daniel tried to figure it out, but could not.
This is the time of the end. I do not follow what my heart believe what scripture means, nor am I smart enough to figure it out...I go to Jehovah. If he wants me to understand, he will give me reasoning. Joseph was a slave in Egypt. He did not know why? Jehovah gave him understanding when the time was right. Joseph did the right thing...trusted in Jehovah.
I am not trying to tear your world apart Josh7, nor am I trying to get you to believe anything I believe. We are both Christians who love Jehovah. If we teach what is not correct...both of us will stand before Jehovah, and we better have a good story. I don't want to be called in front of the boss, and I'm sure you don't either. Do you think we should work together on figuring things out?

If I reason on scripture, and you take scripture for just what the words say...how do we reasons things out together?

As we discuss subjects on this db we talk of things we may have discussed before, and that refreshes our understanding. Every once in a while one of us will say something that actually makes sense, and we agree, a lot of times we discuss two opposite sides and in such a way all avenues are covered.

None of us here agree on everything, we all vary greatly on subjects, but over time we have learned what each other believe and there's less reason to continue to hash out a certain point but move on to another, then perhaps touch on the previous later.

I learn every day on here discussing scripture even when I disagree with someone.

I don't know that we will have harmony as to truth yet, it may just very well not be Jehovah's time for it.

I find most people are comfortable with how they believe. I think that is why they stay so many years in a false religion. It the old story of the lugger frog.
This farmer was going to cook up this big frog, so he started a fire, and put a big kettle of water over it. After the water started to boil, he threw the frog into the water. The frog jumped out as fast as he went in. The farmer threw him back in several times with the same results. So he reasoned on it. He emptied the boiling water, and put in cold fresh water. When the water was just starting to get warm, he lowered the frog into the pot. The frog liked the warm water. Before the frog knew what was happening, he was boiled.
    That’s Satan’s trick.

This is true all over the world, with billions of people. Most people want to just be told what the truth is, very few people have the ability, desire, or time to consider whether or not what they have learned is scriptural or not.

Now this is where Jehovah's spirit comes in, if we have the right heart condition he will draw us through Christ Jesus by his spirit.

Then there a varying levels of truth, some have a little about one subject or another, some have less.

Such is the state of this world.

I believe one day Jehovah will make the truth clear, it just must not be that time yet.

If that were true there would be no debate because everything in the world would be glaringly obvious as prophecy is fulfilled.

In 1968 I was talking to a young man who believed he could live as he wanted, and when the signs were starting to happen he would change.
He was a member of the Air Force Reserve. Two days later he was flying, and flew across a lake about 100 feet off the water. He did not see the wire, and crashed. They found the aircraft, but never found his body. For him it was the end of the system. people think they have plenty of time. We don't. We are always seconds away from death. You can't change when you're dead.
I live every day like it is the last chance to serve father.

And why do you change the subject Domenic, Gen 3:15 clearly says the seed of the women, not Adam. Yet you claim that's not what it means. Why wouldn't have God said the mans seed if that's what he meant, if the seed was suppose to mean physical sperm?

"And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will crush your head, and you will strike him in the heel.â€￾

    What say you?

And how about that little detail that every child out of her would be her seed? No matter who fathered it... Right?????

    Time out!

Brothers....please. The spirit of truth must be planted under peaceful conditions. Wrangling should cease, as befits Christians....

I, myself, have been in the same predicament before. Tempers flare...and insults come. But it must stop for God's spirit is one of love, and peace, and unity.

I had several sisters, sweet and humble, ask me to cool off, and step away for awhile when arguments developed. I would like to give my understanding on this topic...but wish it to be from another's perspective...and NOT to take sides in your personal discussion of a heated nature.

Will you brothers hear my explanation?

    Please, allow some other view.

    Join me in prayer...

"Father, this site is another devoted to you. Devoted to your son and the word he gives, and your holy spirit. Please...bring us peace, wisdom, patience, and love , so we don't tear each other down with arguments. We must show love, and mutual respect here, in order to have your spirit on this site. In Jesus' name and spirit we pray....

    All agreed, say Amen."
