Is roving about a way to gain knowledge? Daniel 12:4 shows that in the time of the end many will seek to understand what is going on. They will be searching "here and there". The verse reads: "But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” Translators have confusingly translated this verse wrong implying that many WILL increase in knowledgeby going here and there. This scripture shows the effort that people will go through trying to gain knowledge. Its not about actually achieving knowledge by going "here and there" but rather the verse shows peoples attempt in gaining knowledge by going "here and there". James 1:5 tells us where to go to get knowledge wisdom and understanding: 5"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." 6"But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." If we doubt or dont trust God completley with His process of gaining wisdom and we turn to men, then we will be tossed around "here and there" in our attempt to gain wisdom, not being stable. We doubt because men are telling us differently than what God's word says. Even Translators translate out of what they think they know and are not listening intently to God as He speaks through His word the Bible. If we are going to ask God for wisdom and end up trusting a man of our choice then we can't expect God to give us any wisdom at all. In Rev 3 Jesus tells us that if you are searching for knowledge the wrong way then you will be causing problems for Jesus and are a worker of lawlessness no matter how well intentioned you are(Matt 7:22) Verse 15 reads: 15"I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." If this verse is about works then which is good? Being Hot or being Cold? Are both extremes good? This is not about works but about your efforts in gaining knowledge and wisdom. In plain English, when it comes to gaining knowledge, what Jesus is saying is:"Do it right or don't do it at all because you are causing a big mess." Many think they know it all and are rich in knowledge but they have nothing. They have no true understanding and are naked to Jesus and the most to be pitied. Jesus begs us: 20"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." Eating is a word used to describe teaching and learning. For Jesus- food for him was to do the will of his Father. If we allow Jesus to be our only teacher then he will teach us. Jesus told us "you have only one teacher" (Matthew 23:8) If we don't allow Jesus in to personally teach us and if we continue to turn to men and learn every biblical theory and philosophy of men to gain knowledge, thus following the "wise and intellectual" scholars, then Jesus will have those go through the refining fire of the great tribulation so then they will clearly see the knowledge which they should have and follow. At that time, of those who think they are "rich" and are going through the great tribulation, Jesus counsels them to turn to him and buy real knowledge from him(Gold) AFTER THEY are refined by fire. The gold-like knowledge Jesus offers us does not need correction but the people who need to buy this "gold" need correction and need to be refined by fire. This verse reads: 18"I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see." This is referring to the 'Great Crowd' who need correction and refinement and who go through the fire/Great Tribulation. When the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses say they are "roving about for knowledge", this should be a red flag to us showing that they have no idea where to go for knowledge and aren't recieving any at all. We can turn to Jesus for knowledge as our teacher because what the Father has He gives to His son and what the son has the holy spirit gives to us. John 16:5 "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.” We don't need to rove about "here and there" to increase in knowledge. We know exactly where to go. Turn to Jesus, he's knocking at your door and ready to teach you. Your Brother
