Here is another account that I enjoy reading:

    Mark 1:40-42

Verse 40 - "There also came to him a leper, entreating him even on bended knee, saying to him: "If you just want to, you can make me clean."

Verse 41 - At that he was moved with pity, and he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him: "I want to. Be made clean."

Verse 42 - And immediately the leprosy vanished from him, and he became clean."

The gesture that Jesus made here, of stretching out the hand and touching the leper, is significant. The leper would have been quarantined, cut off from society, because of the contagious nature of leprosy. The Bible does not specify how long the man had been afflicted with leprosy. Perhaps it may have been a long time since the man had felt the touch of another person.
