I watched a couple of episodes from the original series of the TV show "Star Trek" this evening. There a couple of things that still puzzle me about this program. Wouldn't you think that in the 24th Century, that a spaceship would have seatbelts or some other restraining device? I can just picture in my mind, an insurance guy inspecting the Enterprise and asking: "So do you wanna fit this sucker with seat belts or something?" Enterprise crew: "Nah! We'll just hang on real tight to the furniture and just roll with the ship whenever she starts rocking!" The other point I wonder about is the location of the bridge on the ship. Why would you put that on top of the ship? Seems like a vulnerable position to me. I don't think that's a wise move, from a strategic point of view. Wallflower
To clarify a point - the word "bridge" used in this context means "where the captain commands the ship from."

This car is made out of Lego bricks. There are a total of 21 pictures in the gallery. If you click on the right side of the picture, about half-way down, there is an arrow that points to the right. (The car's top speed is 30 km per hour. I guess I wouldn't be able to use it on the race track. Perhaps I could use it to just go get the bread and milk.) http://www.carsguide.com.au/pics/life-size-lego-car-powered-by-air/5848/1/80900/

Audi. Self-driving car. I read some other information in a newspaper recently (can't remember which one) that spoke about self-driving cars. Apparently, they have been tested in Australia. The car is able to "read" road signs but it became confused when "reading" the 40 km/h sign that is painted on the back of buses. http://www.latimes.com/business/tec...ing-car-20140110,0,283882.story#axzz2qB8CUAXh
