One of my favorite books is Dune.

A story about a desert planet rich in 'spice' (which is oil) and the whole galaxy revolves around it, until a Messiah comes and resets the political schema (a kingdom).

In the book, there is a reference to "the sleeper", who is the Messianic figure.

    Consider Ephesians 5:14

"Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."

I'm guessing the author Frank Herbert took the idea of the sleeper from the Bible (he also wrote Islamic ideas into the book).

Who is this sleeper? Why are half of the bridegroom asleep? When they wake up, what will change?

"Religion" has turned man away from God. You can feel it in the air!

I feel it myself, an apathy of sorts, not intellectually but spiritually.

[maybe I'm imposing myself on the rest of man]

But is it any wonder that the Jewish people at the time of Jesus were weary of the Temple?

However, we know from history that this situation is the perfect sandbox for Jehovah to do what he does best:

overturning all of Satan's schemes with small and weak things.

This is the sleeper coming awake, the 1/2 of the bridegroom being shaken from slumber.

All Jehovah needed was 12 tribes, then 12 men, with a king.

The light is just a flicker right now, but it won't always be.

So we have hope, which is sufficient I think.

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."

I am glad you are weary my brother...I also am exhausted and weary...spiritually and bodily ...
But this spiritual war has been very very long and harsh....the time period involved is utterly draining.
Yet having said that..if you were bright eyed and bushy tailed And full of energy ( spiritually )...I would be rather wary of you ...I would prefer to serve shoulder to shoulder with experienced battle weary, scarred and wounded brothers and sisters...
Their experience and fortitude would give me peace of mind that they have put up a hard fight for the faith..and if they can still keep going then maybe so can I.... ( Jude 3)

I remember many many years ago...decades actually a brother gave a talk at a meeting...
He asked how we were going in the Truth....were we coping...did we feel we were managing okay..
He then said....if you feel that then I’m sorry but you probably won’t make it thru the great tribulation.

At the time I was so new and green,,,I just sat there And thought WHAT!!!!!!!:eek::mad::confused:

Off course now I understand so much better...
Your posts have been very encouraging...
