I should have rewrote my meaning of “the number of humans”. It is a number for humans. The original Hebrew word translated for sin is chata’, ( khaw-taw’ the k is silent = haw-tah). It has the meaning “to miss, miss the mark”. In the Hebrew (Hiphil) of the word, means “to miss the mark”

Years ago, I used the idea of riding on the original merry go round. The riders go around and reach for a ring at a stationary location just out from the edge of the merry go round. A rider would win a prize if they got hold of the ring. Unfortunately, no matter how often the rider passes the ring, they are up or down, or out of reach. No matter how hard they try, they can’t reach the ring. So, they “miss the mark”. We all miss the mark of perfection (7)!:(

I’m so happy to hear your enjoying them....I thought I might be a bit annoying to some...hahah.
But I like researching..and I go to all the places that we are told not to...it’s nice finding certain things...probably things I should have known but the internet widens our knowledge so much...but being in a divided house it’s sort of lonely when you cannot share great little findings...so it’s nice to share things here.
I did share this with a sister in my cong who quietly sort of celebrates birthdays...and thought along the same line as me...that we had been fanatical with birthdays..so I understood her.
She was surprised at the satans influence
and how he had conned us all into self worship without us even knowing...
I found a lot more than what I put up but I didn’t want to annoy to much....but since you appreciated that I might put up a few other things on different topics...but they can be a bit graphic...so I held back.

What I have appreciated since finding these things...is a bit more respect for Rutherford ....I think his abrasive arrogant manner now was actually used by Jehovah to get us all out of these things.....yes he was very prideful etc and led us down the wrong path on many things...but I can see where Jehovah used him now...for certain things....but Jehovah will use anybody. Wether believers or non believers to bring his plan to its final end...

Having said that I am well aware and as the brothers have taught us that not every thing pagan is wrong...but when it involves acts of worship..then it becomes forbidden ....and it’s hard to work out that bit..because the acts of worship are wrapped up so much in the coat of innocence and we like that due to our human nature...we don’t want to see whats under the coat so we don’t take it off...we dare not take it off because it will make our life so much harder...and it’s easier to leave it on and not make waves.

The Helper..or advocate or Holy Spirit .

This talk is given from I think by a IBS or one that broke away when Rutherford took over from Russell.
I think but I could be wrong .... he appears to be reading from or partly from Russels own writing.
    It’s a truly excellent talk.
Keep in mind Russell was all about the anointed...but this is for all of us..those not of the anointed can and do receive the aid from the Helper...or Holy Spirit.
He supplies the helper when we have reached the end of our own power to get thru a certain trial or temptation or situation.
Thus doing this he actually rescues us and helps in finishing our training...because we had come to our own limitations..he then steps in to aid us....to Help us...thus the Helper...
It can come to us in many ways ..always thru his word..but many of us still need more ...so he may use what may be said at a meeting...or by a brother and sister...or by some one not even a believer....or from a very direct and personal manner......
    JOHN 14:16

And I will ask the Father and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.

And I will ask the father and he will give you another HELPER to be with you forever.

So when he sees us floundering or breaking in any manner concerning him he does this for us if we are of the genuine heart towards him.

In this way he fulfills scripture
    NWT
    I Peter 5:10
But after you have suffered a little while the God of all undeserved kindness who called you to his everlasting glory in union with Christ HE WILL HIMSELF FINISH YOUR TRAINING .
HE WILL MAKE YOU FIRM, HE WILL MAKE YOU STRONG, HE WILL FIRMLY GROUND YOU.

And after you have suffered a little while the God of all Grace who has called you to his His Eternal glory in Christ will HIMSELF restore you, secure you strengthen you and establish you.

So...You’re a bit of a rebel!!:p I am also; I always was! I can’t remember if I mentioned before; I had a great Professor of Humanities, who taught me how to learn. His family were Ashkenazi Jews from Greece. They migrated to the United States in the early 1900’s. He had a photographic memory. I told him, it must be a blessing. He said, “It’s a blessing, and a curse. It’s a blessing because you remember everything! It’s a curse, because you remember everything!”

I was thirty years old! All those years of different systems of education, and worldly systems. It took one semester with him, to teach me how to learn. All he said was; “Don’t take my word for it! Don’t believe everything you read! Don’t believe what other people say.
Check It Out! It may be wrong!

I had been warned about him a year before I took his class. Many of the students said he was horrible. He had the same final exam every year. So, it was no surprise to anyone. Quite simple really. Here it is:

    1. At this point in my life, this is what the study of Humanities means to me. Define.

    2. All facts are lies, only myths are true! Define.

One day, just before the finals, I got it. I blurted out, “Ohhh, I got it!!” He said, “Oh, would you like to share it with the rest of the class?” I said, “Oh NO! I’ll keep this to myself!”

He scored the final based on how the two answers combined. That is what I got, and understood. I received an A+ on the exam.:)

Show off ..hahah....wow I wish I had a photographic memory...mine seems to be fading fast

That’s how Charles Taze Russell got real truths...he looked everywhere...searched all religions
You probably did tell that story but I cannot remember it ...

Okay here is the sequel...THE TARES AMONG THE WHEAT...
I prefer this one but the first one helps support and makes this so much easier to see the complex picture .
Again very long and some will have to break it up or binge watch on the weekend if you have not seen them.
    What are they about?
They explain the Great falling away...the great apostasy that had to come first..the antichrists
Coming out of BTG is a prolonged and agonizing fight.....no doubt many of these men and women were of the anointed..
I have watched both of these a number of times...there is a lot in them to grasp

A studious sister pointed this out to me...

Would you please explain the meaning of the word "earthquakes" in Matthew 24:7? Does this word just refer to earthquakes, or is more involved?
In Matthew 24:7, Jesus Christ speaks about end-time events and warns His listeners: “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there shall be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”

In Matthew 24:7, and in the parallel Scriptures of Mark 13:8 and Luke 21:11, the Greek word for “earthquakes” is “seismos,” meaning, according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, No. 4578, “a commotion, i.e. (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake–earthquake, tempest.”

The word “Seismology”–the study of earthquakes — is derived from the Greek, “seismos.” But in the Bible, the Greek word “seismos” applies also to a tempest in the air. For instance, note Matthew 8:24, which reads: “And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that that the boat was covered with the waves. But He [Christ] was asleep.” The Greek word for “tempest” is “seismos”–the same word as used in Matthew 24:7, which is translated there as “earthquakes.” In Matthew 8:24, it was not a small tempest, but “a great tempest,” which arose on the sea.

Let us compare the passage of Matthew 8:24 with the parallel account in Mark 4:37-38: “…And a great windstorm arose; and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on the pillow.” Notice also the parallel passage in Luke 8:23: “But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake; and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy.”

The Greek word for “windstorm” is “lailaps,” meaning a “whirlwind… storm, tempest” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, No. 2978) or, as Thayer’s Greek Definition of the Bible puts it:

“1) a whirlwind, a tempestuous wind… 2) a violent attack of wind, a squall… never a single gust nor a steady blowing wind, however violent, but a storm breaking forth from black thunder clouds in furious gusts, with floods of rain, and throwing everything topsy-turvy.”

Reading together the accounts of Matthew, Mark and Luke, we see that there was a great and violent storm on the lake. This whirlwind, “lailaps” in Mark and Luke, was called a “seismos” in Matthew; that is, a tempest in the air. The Greek word “seismos” applies to both an earthquake and a violent storm. When Christ prophesied about “seismos” for the end-time, He did not only prophesy about “earthquakes,” but also about violent tempests in the air; that is, storms, hurricanes and typhoons, i.e., strong whirlwinds.

Christ’s predictions are coming to pass today. We read and hear more and more about hurricanes, typhoons, storms and tempests in diverse places, as well as earthquakes.

In his book, written in 1999, “Apocalypse–A Natural History of Global Disasters”, Bill McGuire, Professor of Geohazards and Director of the Benfield Greig Hazard Research Centre at University College London, says this about hurricanes:

“Wind-storms, particularly hurricanes, constitute one of the most destructive of all geophysical hazards… The Saffir-Simpson Scale classifies hurricanes in terms of categories ranging from 1 to 5, largely based upon the average and peak strengths of the winds” (p.32, “Atmospheric hazards”).

For instance, hurricane Andrew, which struck Miami in August of 1992, was a category 5 hurricane–its winds had an average speed of 250 to 300 kilometers per hour. The costs of the devastation from the hurricane were US $32 billion. Bill McGuire states: “Hurricane Andrew was the second-most expensive disaster in the history of the country.”

He continues: “In recent years, the numbers of hurricanes have been increasing, and there are now some 40 per cent more intense hurricanes than there were 30 years ago. Worryingly, this does not seem to be a blip, but part of a continuing trend caused by global warming… In order for a hurricane to form, the sea-surface temperature in the spawning grounds must be at least 26°c. However, recent scientific research has revealed not only that sea-surface temperatures are rising, but also that, for every 1°c rise, more hurricanes can be expected. In the Eastern Atlantic, for example, sea-surface temperatures of 27°c will generate, on average, one or two hurricanes a year, while a rise to 28°c will result in seven or eight… With the global-warming trend set to continue for at least another 50 years, whatever we do today to reduce ‘greenhouse gas’ emissions, the prospects for hurricane-prone regions look increasingly bleak” (p.34).

Additionally, McGuire makes the following startling statements:

“Where there is wind there is often rain, and where that rain is torrential and persistent it will not be long before floods follow… The intensity of rainfall during a tropical storm can be almost unbelievable. In 1970, on the island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean, for example, nearly 4cm of rain fell in only 1 minute, while on the French island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean nearly 4m of rain fell in a single 24-hour period in March 1952… Flood disasters are on the increase world-wide… In any single year, floods may affect upwards of 100 million people world-wide, killing up to 20,000…” (p.35, “Hydrological Hazards”).

He states on page 38: “…despite many initiatives designed to better understand geophysical hazards and their effect, natural disasters have not only continued unabated but have actually increased in both number and impact” (“Geophysical hazards and the human race”).

Natural disasters are on the increase worldwide–not only earthquakes, but also hurricanes, volcanic eruptions and other natural and man-made devastations. Science confirms today how accurate Christ’s “Olivet Prophecy” is. In the future we will be witnessing all over the world more and more violent, powerful and destructive earthquakes, as well as tsunamis, terrible storms, heavy rainfalls and landslides.

When these events occur with more and more frequency and powerful devastation, we KNOW that the time of Christ’s return is near. He foretold us in Luke 21:25-28:

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things BEGIN to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption DRAWS NEAR.”

The rider on the white horse in Revelation 6 has for many decades been misrepresented as the Anti Christ .
Jehovah’s witnesses have never supported this belief so it’s nice to find some one out there that has done her deep study and seen why ....and actually changed her thoughts on this.
I don’t agree with her two witnesses and a few other things but she has gone against the tide and taken a strong stand.
If I was to put up what we believe with our info and mags..some would just shrug it off...but this girl has done her research...and I certainly believe to think that the rider of the white horse in Rev 6 is the antichrist is robbing Jesus Christ of his rightfully gained position....and exalting his enemy .
It is really of the highest insult to him. They might as well spit in his face

    Revelation 6
    Matthew Henry's Commentary
    Revelation 6:1
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
6:1-8 Christ, the Lamb, opens the first seal: observe what appeared. A rider on a white horse. By the going forth of this white horse, a time of peace, or the early progress of the Christian religion, seems to be intended; its going forth in purity, at the time when its heavenly Founder sent his apostles to teach all nations, adding, Lo! I am with you alway, even to the end of the world. The Divine religion goes out crowned, having the Divine favour resting upon it, armed spiritually against its foes, and destined to be victorious in the end. On opening the second seal, a red horse appeared; this signifies desolating judgments. The sword of war and persecution is a dreadful judgment; it takes away peace from the earth, one of the greatest blessings; and men who should love one another, and help one another, are set upon killing one another. Such scenes also followed the pure age of early Christianity, when, neglectful of charity and the bond of peace, the Christian leaders, divided among themselves, appealed to the sword, and entangled themselves in guilt. On opening the third seal, a black horse appeared; a colour denoting mourning and woe, darkness and ignorance. He that sat on it had a yoke in his hand. Attempts were made to put a yoke of superstitious observances on the disciples. As the stream of Christianity flowed further from its pure fountain, it became more and more corrupt. During the progress of this black horse, the necessaries of life should be at excessive prices, and the more costly things should not be hurt. According to prophetic language, these articles signified that food of religious knowledge, by which the souls of men are sustained unto everlasting life; such we are invited to buy, Isa 55:1. But when the dark clouds of ignorance and superstition, denoted by the black horse, spread over the Christian world, the knowledge and practice of true religion became scarce. When a people loathe their spiritual food, God may justly deprive them of their daily bread. The famine of bread is a terrible judgment; but the famine of the word is more so. Upon opening the fourth seal, another horse appeared, of a pale colour. The rider was Death, the king of terrors. The attendants, or followers of this king of terrors, hell, a state of eternal misery to all who die in their sins; and in times of general destruction, multitudes go down unprepared into the pit. The period of the fourth seal is one of great slaughter and devastation, destroying whatever may tend to make life happy, making ravages on the spiritual lives of men. Thus the mystery of iniquity was completed, and its power extended both over the lives and consciences of men. The exact times of these four seals cannot be ascertained, for the changes were gradual. God gave them power, that is, those instruments of his anger, or those judgments: all public calamities are at his command; they only go forth when God sends them, and no further than he permits.
    Revelation 6:2

Suppressing Jehovah’s Witnesses to “Prevent Espionage”
    10/13/2019LI MINGXUAN |

More than 100 believers were summoned by law enforcement and investigated, numerous foreign missionaries arrested and deported from China.

While actively involved in espionage internationally, either by exporting Huawei’s network technology to monitor people abroad, sending student spies to American universities, or employing overseas Chinese to work as its agents, the CCP
It stands for Chinese Communist Party, which from 1949 controls all social and political life in China. Members of CCP should in principle be self-proclaimed atheists. The ultimate goal of CCP is suppression of religion. However, how this goal is achieved has varied during time, and after Chairman Mao’s death the CCP has acknowledged that, notwithstanding its efforts, religions may survive in China for a long time.

has also formed a massive spy ring to monitor what China’s residents say or believe in. At the same time, foreign missionaries and believers with ties abroad are investigated under the pretext of “preventing espionage.”

    Jehovah’s Witnesses investigated like spies
In early August, the police in a city of the eastern Province
(省). A part of the administrative division of China at the highest, provincial level. China includes 22 provinces (although sometimes the government mentions 23, by adding Taiwan).
    " target="_blank" style="box-sizing: inherit; text-decoration-skip: objects; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out; color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important; border-bottom-width: 1px !important; border-bottom-style: dotted !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important;">province
of Shandong took in a Jehovah’s Witness for investigation and interrogated her about her faith. She was also demanded to identify a South Korean missionary. The officers claimed that all foreigners who come to China to preach are spies, and warned the believer not to have any further contacts with any of them.

The woman told Bitter Winter that the police also summoned five members of her church and a missionary from abroad. Two of them were later investigated by the municipal State Security Bureau
(SSB) 國家安全局: A prefecture-level intelligence state security agency, including each State Security Bureau operating in a prefecture-level city, or autonomous prefecture. During National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in 2018, State Security Bureau in each prefecture began to be re-designated to State Security Committee, which is subordinated to the local Party Committee.

    " target="_blank" style="box-sizing: inherit; text-decoration-skip: objects; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out; color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important; border-bottom-width: 1px !important; border-bottom-style: dotted !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important;">State Security Bureau
    ’s counter-espionage department.

Other believers reported that more than 100 Jehovah’s Witnesses in Shandong’s Qingdao region had been investigated; more were summoned by the authorities and later scrutinized in Shandong’s Liaocheng city and Cangzhou city in the northern province of Hebei.

A source who asked to remain anonymous told Bitter Winter that the police use different methods to investigate and find information about believers who are in contact with foreigners, including through monitoring their phones. To prepare for a unified arrest operation, officers sometimes disguise themselves as beggars to conduct stakeouts outside meeting venues to determine the number of attendees and find out more about the patterns of their gatherings. The source said that all arrested foreign believers are deported back to their home countries.

A couple interrogated for 18 hours
In May, the police arrested two couples of South Korean Jehovah’s Witnesses in Qingdao. A local believer said that one of them was interrogated for 18 hours, deprived of sleep throughout the process. The police wanted to get information about the church and its members. The two believers were released, but their passports seized. They were monitored for over 20 days and then deported to South Korea.

“Every missionary who came to China has spent several years learning Chinese. They were very reluctant to leave,” said the believer, adding that fewer foreign missionaries are coming to China now. In general, new missionaries come on a tourist visa and are always investigated by the state that makes records about each of them. As soon as it is determined that they are in the country for missionary work, they are deported and prohibited from coming back for five years.

Police raid believers’ gathering at a restaurant
On August 13, more than 40 believers in the Jianhua District
(市轄區). An administrative unit at the same level of a county, but normally located within a municipality or a prefecture-level city.
    " target="_blank" style="box-sizing: inherit; text-decoration-skip: objects; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out; color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important; border-bottom-width: 1px !important; border-bottom-style: dotted !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important;">district
of Qiqihar city in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang were having a meal together at a restaurant when more than a dozen police officers stormed in. All the believers’ ID information was registered, and four church members were taken to the local Public Security Bureau
(公安局). The office responsible of the police in a Prefecture Level administrative division. The bureaus are part of Provincial Level Public Security Departments and in turn oversee County Level Public Security Sub-Bureaus. Not to be confused with the local bureaus of the Ministry of State Security.
    " target="_blank" style="box-sizing: inherit; text-decoration-skip: objects; transition: all 0.1s ease-in-out; color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important; border-bottom-width: 1px !important; border-bottom-style: dotted !important; border-bottom-color: rgb(221, 51, 51) !important;">Public Security Bureau
for interrogation, where they were held until the evening.

According to sources, the police also raided the church’s meeting venue that day and confiscated a church elder’s computer, claiming that they wanted to check if it contained any anti-CCP content.

Believers from South Korea are packing their things to go home to escape CCP’s persecution and harassment they face every day because of their faith.

Bitter Winter (13.09.2019) – https://bit.ly/2kzN6gC – “I’ve never encountered such persecution as in China anywhere else I have been to. There are surveillance cameras everywhere. There is no personal freedom,” a Jehovah’s Witnesses elder from South Korea summarized to Bitter Winter his ten-year-plus experience living in China.

He came to the eastern province of Shandong over a decade ago to devote himself to missionary work. This year, he decided to return to his home country. He said that like other Jehovah’s Witnesses from abroad, he would try to persevere until the end of the year. Now, he is getting ready to sell his apartment before the move.

In mid-August, he asked a fellow local believer to keep some of his religious books and CDs, because he was afraid that they could be used to deport him should the police find them at his home. He was reluctant to part with the books; after all, he has used them for preaching in Shandong for the past decade.

The main reason for his decision is the intensifying suppression against religious movements and groups from abroad. After the United Front Work Department and the Ministry of Public Security jointly issued last year the Work Plan of the Special Operation to Investigate and Deal with Overseas Christian Infiltration According to Law, authorities throughout China have been cracking down on Jehovah’s Witnesses and other religious groups, like South Korean Christian churches.

Because of the crackdowns, more and more Jehovah’s Witnesses from abroad have been arrested and deported. In May, a Jehovah’s Witnesses elder was deported back to his home country from Shandong’s Qingdao city after the police tracked him down during a religion-related investigation. As a rule, according to Jehovah’s Witnesses in China, the deported missionaries are prohibited from returning to China for five years, but church elders are permanently barred from entering the country again.

“To avoid being tracked down and arrested by the CCP, we have installed several ‘layers’ to enter our meeting venue. First, there is a security door; then, large foam boards are attached to it, and also a folding partition conceals the door,” the elder from South Korea explained some security measures that they had to implement. “During our gatherings, we keep the windows tightly closed and put up several layers of curtains. Besides, we can’t gather at the same place for a long time and must change the meeting venue whenever necessary. We often have to gather on short notice because we don’t know where the gathering is being held. Since January, our meeting venue has been changed more than a dozen times.”

As part of their customs, female Jehovah’s Witnesses usually wear long skirts to express their devotion to God. In the tense and hostile environment in China, women started wearing pants during gatherings. That way, if the police come to arrest them, they don’t need to change their clothes and can flee immediately – one of the many tricks they were forced to learn to survive being Jehovah’s Witnesses in China.

A Jehovah’s Witness from South Korea who also lives in Shandong told Bitter Winter that seeing foreign missionaries around her being deported, one after another, she and her husband have become more cautious in their daily lives.

“When we need to buy a SIM card or rent an apartment, we ask local believers to do it for us. When property management staff come knocking on our door, we don’t dare to open it. We wanted to take the subway when it had just opened, but after hearing that IDs are checked, we were discouraged,” she said. “Every day, when we open our eyes and see that everything is fine, we thank God.”

“One time, I went to the bus station to pick up a friend, and a person in uniform questioned and photographed me. I was terrified at the time, thinking he was a police officer. I later learned that he was a security guard. It was frightening, but I wasn’t in any danger,” she said with lingering fear while recounting her experience.

Jehovah’s Witnesses in other parts of China also face the same dangers. A member from Cangzhou city in the northern province of Hebei, a native Chinese, recounted to Bitter Winter that last May, five South Korean preachers from one venue were arrested and deported, others were harassed by the authorities. The believer also revealed that to evade the government’s surveillance, believers started using public telephones to contact each other. On their mobile phones, they don’t indicate real names on contact lists, and they never answer calls from unknown numbers.

“We keep our gatherings concealed now. It’s like guerrilla warfare – we’re constantly on the move from place to place. We have no choice. The CCP’s persecution forces us to do this. We have to be careful,” the believer from Cangzhou said. “The government is afraid of us having contact with foreigners, fearing that this will threaten the Communist Party’s regime. We never get involved in politics. All we do when we’re together is worship God.”

Although not on the list of the xie jiao, the activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses in China are regarded as illegal. In mid-April, 17 Jehovah’s Witnesses in Xinjiang’s Korla city were indicted for “using an evil religion organization” to “incite the obstruction of law enforcement” and one for “obstructing law enforcement by organizing and using an evil religious organization.” It is the first time that Article 300 of the Criminal Code, usually reserved for organizations listed as xie jiao, was applied against Jehovah’s Witnesses.

As we know Jehovah is a highly organised God.
The fact that he bought the poor class of slaves who were his people the Israelites out of Egypt in a organised military arrangement.
    Shows this.
Which required discipline from all parties involved in that massive movement.
It’s interesting because Charles Taze Russell explained that coming out of Egypt signified his people coming out of BTG
Moses as we know represented Jesus.
Going into the land of Canaan represents his people going into the New World.
( I agree with this.. and I know some may not)
Camp life in the wilderness was much longer than was necessary and harder than was anticipated by all.
Much like today....BUT....it’s all still part of his plan!

So God made the people go around by the way of the wilderness of the Red Sea but it was in BATTLE FORMATION that the Israelites went up out of the land of Egypt. 593557B3-31BF-43BE-B83B-45E5E50D0CCB.jpeg

Oh, I read the information on the site you suggested. Right on! I was expecting the usual negative slights. There was none.
