Strikes so many chords with me...

I have an old "poem" which I found once on Internet and which I'd like to show you. Extremely poignant...

    TENETS (1980)

since most of you know "My Story" you can suppose where
and what drove this one to surface ...so over it "much later"
written from the human perspective "so self centered"

    TENETS (1980 )

Who is the one that is able to see
what is now , happening to me
are you hearing what they say
as they walk God's loving way
    I feel it won't change
    it's always been the same
    when I wake tomorrow
I will yet feel the pain
    does anybody really care
    I have yet to see
    How can I ever learn
    how that I should be
    Books there are sharing
    Lectures many on Love
but I have yet to find
a human tender as a dove
    Hands as soft as velvet
Words as gentle as a stream
    sensitivity to my feelings
    that I've never seen
    This is Gods forsaken land
the shallow depths , the heart of man
a babbling brook and empty store
provisions gone and stocked no more
Why hold we to theses concepts dear
    when to men's hearts
    they are not near
To some who seek these tenets
    that belong this reality
the hope lies in the future
that change will come to be

    written following slander
    by those professing to
    hold Truth dear :
I am so over it now
    but my thinking that
    those who profess to
    follow Jesus need to
    be more careful about
    displaying what they "believe"
as God himself can see us

    THE WELL

can't say I could verbalize well ...what I was feeling back then
much of it is dark and cloudy and fully a maze ...being awake
and conscious is quite different and it's vision is far "clearer"
most of these were written within a couple of years after
my "involuntary" dissociation ..but getting to know one another
in virtual space ...well again it's not because I want it that way .
please remember the well is what Jesus said it would be ...it
will be filled ...we prefer it filled with the "springs of truth"

    THE WELL 1985

I am full of pain and fears
    the culmination of the years
All the things I keep inside
the secret place where I do hide
In this vast and boundless soul
    is a universe to know
In unseen reaches of this well
the springs of life their course retell

Draw them up I would for you
the clearest waters of the truth
unspoiled , untouched by any hand
unpolluted by the land of man
    the company of many souls
I’ve emptied out and helped make whole
    until myself with nothing left
    left alone and left bereft

Have I nothing left to give
but the richness of a heart that lives
In darkness have I buried treasure
the valued sum of richest measure
In empty space the brightest stars
    enclosed within these prison bars
These are the things belonging to me
    The vastness of eternity

our only true possessions dwell within
the sources of true treasure and life
where exists all pain and pleasure
and what we impart to those we love

    PREVALENCE OF CONFLICT

The state of our humanity without the spirit of Truth
or leastwise with "poor vision" so many, myself not
excluded, have lived in various states. When you are
present in them they seen interminable . Such as
pain , sorrow , depression and other "emotions" .
We have little control when not trained to understand
why they exist .Our own abuses of life and that of
being abused (which ever way it crosses our paths)
Sometimes one just has to ride the "waves" to get
    to the shoreline ..

    PREVALENCE OF CONFLICT (early 80's)

What is the purpose screams the heart
    When night is vanquished
    but the day is dark
    the burdens long since gone
but eternal memory sings the song
    long days past in reverie
    screams of anguished memory
though the time long has past
    unquenchable agony seems to last
flotsam carried by currents of life
battered by waves on a sea of strife
the breakers turbulence seeks a shore
the still security of firmness no more
swells of pain wash me like the sea
endless destruction of soul for eternity.

    RESTORATION

    RESTORATION

I thought about you last night
    .............. and this morning
    How much you've been through
    ...... the trials,...... tribulations,...... obstacles
all the things we consider..... that ruin peoples lives
Sometimes I see you as........... unsinkable
..... but I know that weight of......... pain
where you were so low..... with its gravity
you....... thought you..... would never rise again
...... and the words.... we use.... to explain
    the resilience............. the buoyancy
    ........ where you have emerged
from the cocoon you swathed yourself within
    ..................... to fly again
.... like some resurrection from the dead
............ where we find our hope
where one can see that evanescent being
........... whose nature is to allow
all things to pass away discarded
    as only lessons............. and learning
    ........... their true meanings
    how stretched...... we are
    and then return........... to our
    ............ original estate
the one so many throw away
and the ones who never get up again
even when others are holding them.......... closely

    Mankind...... definable by...... judgments
    indefinable... transitory... elusive

He sinks..... then springs up..... rises
like some hidden fountain..... was buried
    ............. in his inner being

    I love this person
    ..... when you thought they
    .......... could bear no more
    ............... by all reckoning
    ceased to exist.......... as whole
this geyser of steam............ rolls out
all hot..... and ready....... to take
    ..... on the world again

    DESTRUCTION

    DESTRUCTION

Coasting on thermals where birds touch the sky
standing below them and watch do I
banking with grace above they ascend
fleeting to views I want never to end

Through the tall grasses do brown bunnies run
enjoying open spaces under the sun
paw prints of raccoons cover my deck
when night arrives their presence I’ll check

In night my roses will disappear
as a sweet dinner for forest deer
the stars will arrive and night will cloak
moon beamed ponds where frogs do croak

Things of great beauty formed by Mans hand
but beneath his gaze will none of it stand
the gold and the silver that so many amassed
to the hills and mountains upon earth will be cast

artifice and toil will disappear in the wind
this system of things will soon meet it’s end
Life’s burning oil so many have wasted
the pursuit of the truth have little tasted

Man has not cared for the gems that reside
the qualities existing in the well inside
understanding and wisdom thought not to seek
strengthening the hands of those who are weak

Exhaustive is the sources of thought
and for vanity is friendship bought
each seeks his own self exultation
    casting down others in defamation

God will destroy the lier and sinner
birds will feast as if in dinner
disease and pestilence will follow after
unthinking men have given God laughter

Man’s ingenuity has not been his crown
his own self praise has cast him down
before God’s justice mankind is not humble
compared to his works our own do stumble

Humans seem not to delight in instruction
the foolish among us will suffer destruction
the law and the prophets and Truth are known
among all mankind the news has flown

Sweet in the mouth is the taste of the Truth
but bitter is knowledge that does not sooth
In birth pangs and travail the new system arrives
and with it the loss of so many lives

    TO PEN

    There's this beautiful blue pen
lying on the chair side table
I want to pick it up
    feel it in my hand

    and write something................................................significant
    but I know..............all that's...................................significant
    has been written........and spoken............................and taught
    .............................. by others
    who have also mastered.........................................life's songs

    Every generation..................................they've come and gone
    and the brilliant.............ones............................have mastered
    ..................................the songs

But my mind is dull..................................................and voice
    like my...........pen...............................................is "scratchy"
Nothing like the voice .............................................of an Aria
    so carefully sung,.....................................every note mastered
    so sweet.......................it can gather
    ...................................the attentions
    of every soul that's proximate
to soak in the bowls of.............................................it's honey
    but I am here alone......with my.................................thoughts
    and they are fixed............................................upon humanity
    those I love......... planted deeply
    but also.......the periphery..........................................gardens
    yet unexplored...................................................whose colors
    also vibrant........................singular......................breathtaking
    ........................I haven't gotten to know

    ........................you........................yet

    PASSION (1985 ????)

You instill in me a chance to dream
to vision things I’ve never seen
to love you lazy in the sun
in moon beamed forest on a run
climbing to the crest of mountains
    bathing in lone pristine fountains

Lying down in fields of clover
    your caressing touch all over
breathing in the scent of pine trees
    floating gently upon glass seas
Tis all the things in reverie
come to mind when you touch me

    Blooming lilies kiss the dawn
    and babbling river passes on
    butterflies drift dancing by
the motion of the clouds in sky
    trickling of the melting snow
the things in you I’ve come to know

The seconds of each slipping hour
    enlighten mind with awesome power
    to create the perfect setting
of the mind and body meeting
    understand the sparks in fire
when the eagles soar no higher

    To recognize the mountains peak
and know the height that lovers seek
    overcome by gale winds
the torrential rain that heaven sends
that drown the heat of passing day
when nature comes out just to play

The roaring lion within his den
    to bedrooms chambers entered in
for all the things love does design
you have brought these things to mind

    COLLATIONS

    COLLATIONS

Spent time enough......... upon this road

to know the things ......... I think are gold

don’t give a hoot ......... bout wealth or fame

if you’re famous......... and made a name

My life’s simple......... have my own dreams

my own pursuits......... and my own leans

but these are those..... that let me see

what lies in you ......... your own beauty

    I understand ......... what you’ve been through

though life’s unique ...... but similar too

you own your joy......... as I do mine

its ups and downs......... the unsublime

I’ve experienced life..... and all it’s dirt

our ecstasies.............. of all our hurt

foolish man said......... I crossed the line

I wasn’t worth............ his thought or time

Forgive me now......... should I not see

all the meaning......... your life needs be

sometimes I’m bound in my own thought

to remember............. what life has taught

That I glory............... in what is you

individuality .............. it’s what we do

I’ve shed my tears...... and held your hand

same under stars ......... the same earth stand

    TRADITION AND POWER

Please remember these are written for "public consumption"
for kick starting thinking among those who are not "believers" YET

Sometimes the sadness that fills the
world catches me and leaves me saturated
with a heaviness that is paralyzing . The
scope and magnitude the shear numbers
who live in peril , pain , hunger , oppression
which I have no power to change except
in my own actions and accommodated by
my own voice . The scales cheat so many
out of the everyday needs of a contented
life when the productive earth has so
generously supplied an excess for every
need to be filled . The need for joy , love
and affection , diversity of sustenance for
every sense we have been endowed with .
The diversity of skill easily taught if
shared, oh but how money changes
    generosity.
I'd like to learn that ! oh but no , it's an
industry secret , I could lose my income
if I teach you , more than that the "owners
propriety" hold power over all those in each
field and industry also that which might be
    considered higher "education" , anything
one learns or has pursued to educate
themselves in all sorts of skills , meets
road blocks in every strata one seeks to
penetrate if one does not accede or
acquiesce to the lauraled experts .Six
thousand years of written history still
has the "common man" groveling at
the feet of those "who think themselves
better" than the rest of mankind . Even
    Jesus met this "established tradition"
when asked by "what authority" do you
do these things ..(ahh things not a single
one of them could perform )
    Well , I'm sorry I don't need your guild
to learn what I want to know , to seek ,
    search , study , dig , comment ,criticize ,
analyze and come to conclusions or find
answers , "keep on seeking and you will
find" is still some of the best advice on
countering the "experts trained by tradition"
I'm sorry when did learning become owned
by an institution , corporation , religion ,
or a government and to what great benefit
has their self ordained pursuits had upon
mankind ...frankly little of true value ..
When you can improve what nature has
already made majestic , call me we'll talk .

    thoughts from yesteryear

    THE AGONY

hoping this isn't a duplicate as I don't have it on the list of pieces
I have put on the forum ...many of my oldest , cut in the world
haven't made it here ..this ones for all those who know this place

    THE AGONY

Why do we have such trouble

    trying to explain

    the height of ecstasy

    and the depth of pain

when to you I am connected

    the blossoming of joy

    where upon it being severed

    hollow emptiness deploy

I hear your cries in the vagaries of night

but your distance........... prevents the healing of your plight

your pain has saturated..... every cell in my soul

but only can the embrace.......... of Love make you whole

My heart aches.......... to hold you to my breast

to see you lifted.......... like a kings treasure chest

wish you could see.......... in mine eyes your own reflection

and take away that you aren’t precious.......... misconception

I have never spent my time.......... tearing you apart

but sought those qualities.......... shining in your heart

who keeps telling you .......... with a derogatory voice

that you’re valued less.......... than any other choice

I have loved you.......... from the day we first met

my promise until the end.......... I’ll you not forget

I exerted to support you.......... every drop of energy

though would have rather..... had you very close to me

There is no treasure .......... over you I cherish

count them as nothing..... that my Love should perish

an espoused sentiment.......... will not a tummy feed

I had to work .......... to roof and clothe your need

The only family at the time .......... that cared for you

two grandparents.......... who tried to help me through

they saw to it .......... every school year you had clothes

and when I lost them .......... how my sanity then froze

I’m required to forgive.......... those who threw us away

and the father.......... who never supported you in anyway

also the men..... who hide those who violate

until our God by Christ.......... does away with hate

Sometimes in Life .......... there is no indication

the path required .......... will receive its vindication

I already know every place.......... that I have failed

and my own inadequacy..... which upon I’ve railed

    Someday perhaps.......... You will understand

Gods requirement..... to care your needs demand

if I hadn’t been alone.......... might’ve been easier to stand

and in myself .......... what I’ve lacked not to reprimand

    1 Timothy 5:8

own house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel

    FLAWED

    FLAWED

There are times you think....... the ink
    is finally dry
that human hearts....... are made of stone
    and always die
that the lessons....... we have learned
    have no value
in the effort....... to apply them
    we are not true
I’ve canvassed ....... fields of study
    and sought to learn
had hoped what ....... I’ve acquired
    I would not spurn
But like the wool....... whose dye
    is firmly set
    I turn around to find
    I can forget
There can be ....... no denying
    that we are flawed
our pursuit of excellence....... and love
    we call our God
    and then....... I look again
    and what I see
an inheritance ....... we have called
    negativity
    I battle............. with ideas
    and formulate
    the slavery....... in which mankind
    is dyed with hate
Where here....... the things of Life
    he can’t enjoy
    making sure every child............ has
    hates employ
    here our own examinations
    have unclear lens
We judge....... the flaws in others
    but miss.......... OUR sins
When the outlook of our future
    appears so bleak
    because our weaknesses......... to overcome
    we do not seek
When we inspect........... all the others
    to find their flaws
    then imagine.............. not in ourselves
    the self same cause
    Oh our hubris.............. how insular
    the men you’ve damned
    And to follow........... after violence
    like it’s unplanned
And still ............ we kill each other
    in mind and deed
    because we seek to drench
    ourselves in greed
We have given birth............. to death
    our practiced ways
    and dominion over mankind
    won’t leave but stays
And still the studied set in
    institutions
    whatever we have learned no
    absolution’s
who does note our selfish flaws
    knowing sorrow
Will we awake ............ another day
    forget tomorrow
No paradise can come to being
    without mans love
    And all within the cosmos
    we’ll take care of

    Keep awake....... and never forget
    the yesterdays
    because mankind must be changing
    all his ways

This is a french poem I made for Jesus on the stake. Maybe one day I could translate it in English.

Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné?

Tu me dis alors: "Que la lumière paraisse!"
"Et que les ténèbres pour un temps disparaissent!"

Pour accomplir tes desseins, tu guidas ma main,
    Nous fîmes le premier jour et son lendemain;

Mon Dieu, mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-tu abandonné?
Qui étais présent lorsque tu as décidé

    Mais celui que tu avais élevé trahit;
    Elle mangea et en donna à son mari;

    Il restait à prouver que jamais tu ne mens;

    Je serai sans armes ni forces militaires;

    Mon Dieu, pour trois jours et deux nuits je vais dormir;
Puis tu me rappelleras à ton souvenir.

    FROZEN OR FLOWING

    FROZEN OR FLOWING

The Man who stuttered.... When he was young
grew up and mastered........... The silver tongue
Seduced he was....... by the world of Men
There he languishes....... in sin like his kin

Loved I have him............ and his ability
But separated by truth ........... the things that we be
seeking the virtues.... the apex of Gods plan
the Kingdom of God.... how he designed Man

Valued like diamonds .............. treasured like jewels
rejected that character........... the folly of fools
Developed in persons.... the facets of Love
Qualities in Men........... that women dream of

Born without knowledge....... like sponges our minds
the innocent unwary..... of intentions designs
    forsaken learning..... in philosophy trust
Like worldly leaders....... live in greed and lust

Do you love mercy.... forgiveness............ what’s just
patience and kindness......... generosity a must
those who love..... peace.......... and truth do pursue
to implement in....... your life you must do

Put on the clothing...... which is loves design
seek what is purity............. and your person refine
don’t follow after ............. where the world would lead
it promotes destruction............ violence is it’s seed

I seek the man............. who seeks mastery in Life
has put away error ............... has put away strife
a seeker of Truth....... still willing to learn
all of Gods ways................. with his heart does yearn

    Lil' bear

Could any of you poets here, please come up with a short, tender, rendering of how a once cherished teddy bear, like this one, came to be dumped in the garbage by some cruel soul-less person,,,

It is beyond me, why anyone would want to throw away a present of Love that must have meant alot to another, at some point in time.

So, please, a short sweet/tragic Poem for this moment,,,

    The Bear On The Shelf

Every day the bear would stare, as my elders told me to clean my room.

On the shelf he was there, but if I disobeyed, I would be doomed.

So instead of playing I decided to clean, to listen to their command.

And now I have the freedom to be, I can come and go as I demand.

Yet this bear, who would stare, continues to haunt my dreams.

What should I do, if my future is threatened, so it seems?

I must rip out its eyes that cause the stumbling,

and toss the bear to those outside,

where the gnashing of their teeth

and cries of despair will join the world in crumbling.
