Things have certainly changed since I went to school http://www.optuszoo.com.au/news/technology/news-com-au/tech-savvy-kids-cant-push-a-pencil/930186
Darn, this link says I need cookies to access it. I don't have any cookies that I want to share, especially with someone I don't know. Maybe they won't like the kind I have. Mine are made with buffalo chips.
Your cookies are made from buffalo chips? That made me smile I just tried the link again and it opened. I'll have to ask administration for some help on this as I am a tech dummy and not very clever with computer stuff. Is there something I should tweak to get the link to open for others to see? Wallflower
Dear Wallflower, There is nothing to tweak on your part. I could read the article without any problem. Tsaphah's browser (or antivirus software, anti-spyware, etc) must be set at the highest level of security for internet and cookies aren't accepted.
"PRIMARY school children are losing their handwriting skills, as touch-screen pinching, swiping and typing and a lack of physical exercise leaves them with underdeveloped arm and hand muscles." This is the main point of the article.
Hi Wallflower, Utuna is right. I have my security set high and almost never use sites that require "cookies". I will use them only on secure sites, and immediately remove them before leaving that site. What a sneaky and devious way to get into someones personal information. Oh, "they are harmless little text files that make your internet experience more enjoyable and easy". Yeah, right! That line is like the one the serpent used on Eve. I was using a euphemism to describe their cookies being like mine. The article you quote is very true. one of the local teachers said that it wasn't necessary to learn how to write because the new technology will eventually replace it. My question is, "What happens when the whole system fails? How will we communicate? How will we access the necessary document to prove who we are?" Oh, wait. They will "... give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead..." Yeah, that's the ticket! Everyone gets "once around the ride."
Here’s what’s available with online data, and how available it is. Vinny Bruzzese, a script consultant and former statistics professor, uses data he gets from a program that scans various social networks to analyze comments about movies and the scripts behind them. From these statistics, he provides figures to studios with information for script rewrites, so they will make tons of money. Have you seen a movie lately and told your friends and family about certain scenes you liked? He’s using it, for free.
Hi Tsaphah Is the "removing the cookies" done when "deleting the browsing history?" When I first got the internet I was told I should remember to "delete the browsing history." Sorry if I sound ignorant - I'm not fluent in "computer speak." I work much better with spanners and screwdrivers. Regarding the writing side of things, I think that writing something by hand also serves as a memory aid. If you have to write extensively about a topic, you have to think the topic through and then put the thoughts on paper. I can still remember a number of essays that I wrote in high school and a number of verbs from language studies. Wallflower
Yes, that's called "body memory". In a nutshell, it's like when you don't remember where you last put your screwdriver but as you remember that the last time you used it, you had to crawl under something and that it was tiresome, then you remember that you left it under the engine of the car. The brain unconsciously makes the connection between the screwdriver and the effort you made in crawling under the engine. http://www.sharecare.com/question/what-is-body-memory
